even though the ticket itself is not cheap (10CUC) it is really worth the money touring this reserve ... inquire in advance what time of year the flamingos go to the Florida area where they give birth to cubs (only one) and return to this reserve after three months ... you will have the opportunity to walk to the lake and then the boat will take you in close proximity to the flamingos who live here, you will not be able to get close to them because they are timid, but you will be at a sufficient distance to observe them in the natural environment

We went a morning tour to see the flamingo, the tour finished in 2 hours. We walked along the park and went on the lake to see the flamingos. We took the taxi there (arranged by the tour company) and the cost including the ticket was around 10CUC per person. The man who rowed the boat for us was super nice and tried to bring us as close as possible (but still a bit too far to watch without the binoculars)The short tour is actually an interesting experience. Don't expect you will stay close with the flamingos but you can also watch some more different birds and lizards during the tour.

Direct encounter with nature

In Cienfuegos, where there is not that much to do, this is a ok excursion. 10 CUC entry best bought in one of the city's travel agencies in advance plus a taxi ride there and back if 20 CUC. the tour is very brief (15 mins tops) but guide was affable and knowledgeable. Row boats on lake to see flamingos follows. 30 mins, with park tower and you don't get close. Still, with nice weather, it gets you out to a quiet nature spot for a while.
