Great Lost Bear

This place was awesome. Looked up a place for dinner randomly and the great lost bear was closest. It was packed but the wait times were short. An amazing beer selection and terrific food. The atmosphere was equally good. Would certianly recommend.

I've gotta give this place five stars because it is a Portland landmark and one of the longest running bars in town. Went in there on a Thursday evening with my wife for a quick beer around 6PM and the place was hoping! Great atmosphere great vibes. Wish I had got there earlier to get some seats at the bar, but plenty of seat yourself tables in the bar area for overflow. Can't comment on the food because it's been so long since I've eaten here. I do remember years ago being underwhelmed with the food which is perhaps why I haven't come here for so long. But they very well may have upped their game in that department. They must be doing something right to draw the consistent crowds they do.

Food was great. Service could be better. Host sat us at a table for 4. We had an additional person say they were coming, so we asked to be moved to an open 5 top next to us and he said "no, he was saving the table for a larger party". 5 minutes later he seats a party of 4. Not a smart move.

The wings are truly some of the best in the state. Full wings, not split like most places which took me by surprise but loved. Extensive menu, good drinks and great prices.

The Great Lost Bear is a Portland Institution. They have a huge beer selection and sure to have draft, cans and bottles of quite a few of the local brewers. The food is a good quality, but the menu hasn't really changed in the 20 years I have visited it since my college years. There is plenty of comfort food on the menu and a good selection of vegetarian options. The staff has always friendly and accomodating.

Been going here and touching the Tesla ball since I was 8 years old. Excellent food and service every time. Love the bear.

Everything about this place was awesome!! The atmosphere from the outside in, the food, and the beer was all amazing.

We took our grandchildren here, one a toddler and the other under one y.o and still had a great time. That tells you something about the staff and the food.

We generally eat here at least once when we visit Portland. ME. The food and service are pretty good, and it is pretty convenient to where we stay.

On of my favorite beer spots. Unpretentious and a great lineup.

Great local pub. Huge beer selection. Strong drinks. Think they're getting a little on the pricey side for what it is but I guess all of Portland is.
