Gino's East Magnificent Mile

About

For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year! Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan. Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!

Ordered the Deep dish Diavola (medium), and it was great! Basil really complimented the rest of the pizza (pepperoni and white truffle oil), and the marinara was a great balance of sweet and savory. The crust was surprisingly fantastic, made out of cornmeal that went well with the pizza as a whole. Very good, especially with the restaurant's ambience and aesthetic. I definitely recommend it!

Visiting Chicago and this place was suggested by our cab driver & hotel concierge. Initially we thought it was pricey for just pizza. But my oh my. These staple family quick foods definitely is not your ordinary pizza. The salad was extremely fresh. The greens were vibrant and tasty. The wings were finger licking good. The sauce alone was unique in taste with a creamy yet chunky blue cheese dipping sauce. The deep dish corn bread pizza was so full of flavor that trying to describe it would be insult. My suggestion...Try it! You won't be disappointed..

Kind of gritty looking but clean and comfortable seating. Ordered the “Meaty Legend” smelled great and tasted great too! Fed 4 big eaters. Excellent crust, cheese and toppings. Friendly and fast wait staff, big beer selection. Happy we branched our from our usual place.
