This place has such potential to be one of the best places in the area, but sadly it is not. I love the set up of the building, the outdoor and indoor availability along with the side sitting area for people who just want drinks or to relax. The beer and food were really good. The problem is they are not staffed enough. The servers are running around doing what they can but they seem to be short staffed every time I'm there. The food also takes forever to come out. I'm not sure if they are short staffed in the kitchen or not, but with how long it took me to get my food multiple times it sure seems like it. This place simply cannot compete with Haymarket, Tapistry, etc because they do not properly staff it. If I'm the owner of this establishment I would make more of an effort to not only increase staff, but also find better servers as well.

Had a good first visit after driving by and just stopping in. Ordered the Du Bist Konig (Kolsh) and the MI Time (Golden Ale). Both beers were good, enjoyed them while sitting outside. Nice outdoor area, had chairs to sit on and hang out, but the tables are still on order. Can’t comment on the food, but what I saw looked pretty good. Interior was nice, as well as the bar. I would stop here again if passing by.

Very limited beer selection (6 on the normal menu but 2 sold out... 2 specials to replace)... More of a restaurant than a brewery but overall, good ambiance and the bartender, Nate, was AMAZING!

Open and airy space. Food is good. On site brewed beers are interesting and cocktails are creative.

Please don't read the bad reviews on this place!Sitting here on a Saturday afternoon, our service was spot on, the beer was wonderful, my girl's wine was tasty, and the food was exactly what you'd expect from an up-and-coming brewery!I can't wait to see what is in store for this location. It's got a lovely outdoor area. And if you think that bugs don't exist outdoors, you're just a fool. If a few gnats discourage you, I recommend living in a vacuum.

Had the perch yesterday, perfect. Can't wait to try the walleye on Friday. Best fries ever! Place was packed but staff were still friendly. Could use a separate waiting area.

The locals at Greenbush told us to drive here. It emerges like a well lit walmart next to the dark MI sky. People here were very friendly. Knew alot about the product and not so money hungry to give a sample. We were served by Brad who makes delicious mixed drinks! Didn't try the food but alot came out the kitchen. This place for 10pm at night was hopping with guest and the line was at the door. The beer, I thought was just ok. Most were light, low sugar, less creativity, just ok. I found one that had alot of character. The stout called the 'sawyer king' maybe. It was sweet, full body, and rememberable. I will return. Very good vibes here!

Was excited to come. Great atmosphere and location. The beer walls very good. Service at the bar was good. French fries were good. Wings for 14 dollars were sub par. 7 wings undercooked for 14 dollars. They weren't horrible but were not great. For 14 dollars these wings better be dancing into my mouth....and I love wings. Everything else was good that's why the 5 stars.

Wanted to like it, but not great. The indoor / outdoor setup was cool and the interior of the building was done well. The story is good, the facility is well thought out but the service and food weren’t great. I ordered a variation on a drink (rum old fashioned) and the server said the bartender gagged when I asked him for it and proceeded to serve me something other than I ordered and half complete. The food took forever even though they weren’t terribly busy and most people in our group were unhappy with the food. The fish sandwich had bones in it. Maybe it will improve if they get a few bugs worked out but I can’t recommend the food or cocktails.

Glad we made a stop at this cool new place! Good beer and great food! It's pretty big on the inside and was pretty busy for a dreary and cool June Wednesday.

Stopped for lunch today. Great food, beer and service. Stoners Paradise hazy pale ale was perfect as was the mushroom bisque and Cuban Missile sandwich. We will be back!

Questions & Answers

Hi Shari, Ghost Isle does not have the Michigan state required special permit to allow animals on the patio where food is being served. I'm sorry we can't accommodate your furry friend but thank you for your inquiry. Our covered outdoor patio is now open along with the adjoining sunshine deck/optional umbrellas.

Hi Jamie, Ghost Isle believes that the crowler/aluminum can product is a better method of preserving beer, so that is our to-go and go-to product for our GI craft beer enjoyment. Buy 3 get one free deal happening now, too! Thank you for your interest, and hope to see you soon!

Of course

Hi Joan, There have been stories handed down that Ghost Island itself (just west of the brewery) is haunted. There have been nothing but good spirits at Ghost Isle Brewery since we opened in April 2019. Thanks for your interest! Elizabeth

Hi Catherine, Thank you for your interest in the All Day, AYCE Walleye Fish Friday! We will resume this great event on March 6th upon reopening.

Hi Diana, AYCE Walleye Fish Fry is all day, starting at noon. Thank you for your inquiry.

At night not really but I assume it probably would be during the day. But the service we received when we were there I would never bring my kids there. Service was subpar and slow at the beginning of the season. Hopefully it's changed since then.
