George's Hot Dogs

This place is great. Cash only first of all, so don't forget that. If you're after authentic Chicago dogs or some other kind, I would highly recommend this place, as it's great and pretty cheap. I recently moved to Chicago from a small town out west and George's Hot Dogs is helping me fulfill my big city dreams. It checks all the big city life boxes for me; it's cash only (seems pretty big city to me), it's hot dogs in Chicago, it's near my apartment, it's got a hole-in-the-wall vibe, and the whole place is pretty low key in general, and the food is great and cheap. If you order a standard Chicago dog (George's hot dog), it comes with a bunch of fries and you get the whole thing for less than 4 dollars. The staff there have been friendly every time I've been there and the food has always been great.

Where Bucktown & Wicker Park families get their Chicago hot dogs. Great french fries! Possibly the quirkiest re-develompment in the city. The old, very modest wood structure stayed in place while a condo building was erected above and subsequently George's was sublimated into the new building itself all the while staying open for business.

Great neighborhood place, been going here for years now. If you want an authentic Chicago style dog, this is the place to go
