Gayety's Chocolates and Ice Cream Company

I love this place so much! As soon as you walk in it takes you back to a days when things just seemed simple.

I am a long time fan of this place and it’s recipes. Since being under new ownership I had not been back to this place until today. The inside, the menu, and the formulas all seemed to be the same, which was a pleasant surprise. However, being the first time going back in so long and getting my order wrong was very disappointing. I repeated it three times, and on my own fault didn’t think to check before I left, I got home and found out my least favorite item was in my order. Such a shame, half of my order wasted and in the trash. Have the server/employee repeat your order or follow every step as they make it would be my suggestion.

This place has to be the most overrated place in history! People go ga-ga over this place, but I just don't get it. I am not impressed with them at all. First off, their whipped cream is terrible. The ice cream is not that great. And they are insanely expensive! I paid $25.00 for a sundae and 12 pieces of candy! Honestly, I would rather go to Dairy Queen and get a Blizzard or something. However, if you're looking for a specialty ice cream parlor, I would recommend Valpo Velvet in Valparaiso,IN. Like I previously stated, this place is way overrated. I think that the best way to describe Gayety's is that they get an A for presentation and style of the business, but they get a D- for taste. Unfortunately, I won't be back.
