Garduno's of Mexico Restaurant & Cantina at Old Town

I love Garduno's, good food, good service..they do a military discount. So when we came in today, Veterans day, I was pretty excited about our meal.BUT It was not good at all. I got steak and enchiladas, asked for medium. It was well done to a fault, bland and just sad. My enchiladas were hard. My husbands fajitas were flavorless. I didn't send it back. I just don't like to do that, call it a phobia! Our sopapillas came cold, the honey poured out like water! We did not receive our military discount..and of all days!! Our server, was very kind and attentive or I would have given one star. Pretty heartbreaking, so much so, that I am actually writing a not so good review..something I just don't do. What is going on Garduno's!

I have loved this place since it was on 4th st the original Garduno's. The best food and service ever. Never any major problems. If want good spicy food please try Garduno's. You'll love it.

Good atmosphere. The food is more touristy than traditional New Mexican. Great margaritas. Good place to hang out with friends for a happy hour.

My favorite restaurant is still my fave! I lived in Albuquerque many years ago and always loved Garduno's. While visiting this weekend I made sure that a stop at Garduno's was part of my plan. I had stuffed sopapilla, my party had chili relleno, tamales, enchiladas and margaritas. It did not disappoint, everything was as wonderful as I remembered. I would definitely recommend eating at Garduno's for an authentic Mexican meal.

This is a yummy place to eat! The staff was very friendly. They also filmed the Hank and Marie / Walt and Skyler confrontation scene from Breaking Bad here.

Gardunos was great. Isaac was a really great server.

Server was very good but the rest of our dining experience was terrible. First we waited for an hour for our food because we got put behind a larger group’s order. One of the guys with us got a small piece of fish in his order, thing is he didn’t order fish. He said all of his food had a fishy taste. Needless to say he didn’t finish. Everyone’s refried beans were extremely dry and tasteless. My rice was barely warm. Don’t think I will be back to this location.

The food was amazing! My favorites were: authentic Mexican Salsa, (it was hot and I loved it!); Refried beans, green chili, and the sopapillas with honey. And finally, certainly not least was the fried ice cream OMG to die for; CAB :)

Nathan was our server this afternoon, he seemed very over whelmed with his 5 tables and we watched as he walked in pointless circles. We had to wait 10 minutes before we got our drinks and than the food took another 20. Which fine for the food I guess but we sat and watched multiple other tables whom were seated after us get food first. Not to mention that he continuously put things in front of my son (1 years old), the salsa, the sizzling skillet of fajitas, the chips, drinks, like come on dude. He clearly wasn’t ready for whatever “rush” was happening. Which sucks because he was somewhat nice. Oh and the managers... just standing by the entrance of the kitchen chatting. Not checking on anyone and obviously saw the struggles of poor Nathan and did not seemed bothered to lend him a hand or ask if he was doing okay. Needless to say I will not be returning until they can better staff servers who can handle more than one table at a time.

Had a horrible experience which my friends and I viewed as racism. We were a party of twelve, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated with no people ahead of us waiting and many areas in main dining area open. When we were finally done waiting after being told we would wait only 10 minutes we decided to leave. As we were walking out the door the hostess said the table was ready and we were taken to an area that is like an open patio area used in the summer but that day looked like a storage area and it was colder than the main restaurant(because its winter) and it had tables and chairs stacked around us. How belittling could this be. Maybe it was they way we were dressed or because we were mexicans speaking spanish in a "mexican restaurant." Either way will not be returning there! Ooohh and we left by the way took our money elsewhere.

Absolutely love to stop here when passing through. Fajitas are so good, but 1/2 lb could feed two. Husband had the buffet which is really good. I'm on Keto diet so they allowed a substitute salad for Rice and beans. Our waitress was very good and accommodating. There are two restaurants in Albuquerque but the location on Louisiana is or favorite. Irene was really a good waitress. Talks with a smile.

Gotta have some of the carne and Hatch green Chile. Its delicious!

Used to be better but still my favorite restaurant

The food at Garduno's is okay, but it often arrives to your table cold. There's plenty of delicious spice in the food, but I can't tell you how many times I have wished for a microwave while dining-in here. The drink glasses are 16oz, the chile is hot, and the service is terrible -- you can imagine the problem with this. I have never been here once and felt like service was good and generally avoid eating here except the occasional to-go. The interior is unique and well-decorated in a theme park kinda way if you like that kind of thing. There are much better options even in the immediate vicinity for New Mexican food.

I came here on a Tuesday night and it was only moderately busy. I had the chicken mole and my son had a combination plate. Service was very fast and friendly and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!
