Garden Island Barbecue & Chinese Restaurant

Love this place, it might not look appealing on the inside, but there food makes up for all of that. They give out big portions for the price that's listed on the menu. The menu has a lot on there so you'll find something appetizing to you. The price isn't much either, and customer service is awesome

We ate here because we were in Lihue. Had a cheeseburger ($3.59) and beef & broccoli ($10). They have reasonable offerings. Clearly, this is where locals easy. No frills here but the food was fine. They also have Dr. Pepper which is hard to find in restaurants. If you are close by drop in for a quick bite.

Fantastic food!!!!! I have eaten all over the Island in the last 40 years that I have lived here and this place is on of the top 3 for me.

Nice local spot for reasonably priced and tasty Chinese food. Easy parking and quick service. They serve a lot of food so order conservatively. Food seemed authentic.

Okay, maybe the don't deserve the 5 stars for the best food, but it's the best for the price. The service was awesome, relaxed and friendly. I like the orange chicken and used to get the double cheeseburger and fries when I worked nearby ... like $5 and much better than McDs!

Ok. Pretty much the same as any mainland Chinese restaurant. Nothing special to write home about.

Let’s get straight to the point. The food I had was alright. It was an order of sweet sour chicken. The only issue I had was the onions. If only it was more chopped. Other than that, service can vary depending on who is the waiter. Also if only they had a fountain drink machine, just the cans not a big fan.

Awesome food at great prices, in a family dining atmosphere. What more can you ask for in a great Kauai restaurant. My personal favorite is the pork unchoi and the garlic shrimp. Been eating here since they first opened on the corner where the flooring store is now. Fantastically friendly and helpful staff help to make your expierence memorable and glad you didnt eat at home or an expensive restaurant. I posted a photo of my pork unchoi but i guess the other review didnt take, its the one with the 101st hat. Trust me you cant go wrong here, unless you dont like great Chinese inspired foods.

Came here after another place we are going to said closed for today and tomorrow on the door. Tons of locals here, and very few tourists. I think it's because it is the only cheap food on the island. We got two BBQ me ice plates that had beef and chicken. Overall, it was decent. For the price, it was plenty of good food at a decent price. Overall, the meats were flavorful. The place is a bit divey, which is fine- because you are not paying for ambience here. We would come back here again!

We enjoy the food there. Chicken katsu, hamburger steak, roast duck. Tonight Hubby had the abalone and mushrooms. It was delicious. However, twice I ordered the crispy won ton and both times it tasted like it was fried in reused oil.

Went two days in a row, one of my favorite places for a Mix Plate/Plate Lunch in Hawaii. I HIGHLY recommend.

The food was great and portions were big. Neither of us could finish everything. The service was fast and perfect. Very clean..Very reasonable prices.
