Freshwaters Southern & New Orleans Cuisine

Nice place, friendly staff and the food is legit. I had the seafood platter with grilled shrimp, crab cake and catfish. All well done, tasty and filling. Crabcakes was all crab. The rice and beans were delicious and filling. I wanted to try the desert but was full plus I had sweet yams and they were like desert. Great food, try it out!

If you are in Charlotte you have to go. The owner greets and converses with ever customer. She tells you all the dishes and my goodness everything is homemade. We ordered catfish chicken and crab cakes with homemade vegetables. Try the cabbage, potato salad and the mac and cheese.Let me tell you after that meal all you could do is sit and try to regroup. The atmosphere is inviting, comfortable and intimate at the same time. Dress is casual or you can dress up either way you will not feel out of place. The servers and the hosts are spectacular. You never have to worry about being unattended. It's not overbearing but you never have to ask or wait for anything. You have to go. It's a home cooked meal. Easy to find in a small strip mall in uptown Charlotte not far from the stadium.

The food was excellent , hot, fresh and served timely! I ordered the Seafood platter with cabbage and potatoe salad without asking the infamous"who made the potato salad?" This was my first time going here and I was thoroughly impressed. The server Pam was wonderful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I loved it and would recommend it for locals and visitors alike. I will definitely be returning!

Had Engagement / Birthday party for nephew Rindy and his new fiancee, Audrey. The food was delicious. The staff was awesome. Sharon and Clifton Freshwater are wonderful.

Some of thee best food I’ve had in a VERY long time. I have tried different spots in Charlotte and I have to say this is the best. The owner was so sweet and took the time to explain the menu , she made sure we were good always checking on us. I don’t write reviews but after this visit I had to. I would definitely recommend this spot, everything was so good !

A solid choice if you have a hankering for Cajun food. You won't be disappointed.

Freshwaters is a very quaint & cozy restaurant located in uptown Charlotte, NC . A very clean and laid back setting with a kinda romantic decor. A New Orleans cuisine prepared with perfection & the food all freshly made is absolutely delicious . Try their peach cobbler or coconut cake for desert you won't be disappointed . A warm and friendly atmosphere with very polite and accommodating waitresses . Overall considering this was my first visit I was quite impressed. Their prices were very moderate considering the exquisite well prepared meals offered .I would very much recommend you checking Freshwaters out if you're in the uptown Charlotte area. I LOVED this black owned business! The service was amazing and the Jambalaya was out of this world!

Mrs. Freshwaters was amazing as she told the story of the restaurant. She spoke with the guest, answered questions, and shared laughs with my husband and myself. I ordered the blackened catfish, crab cake and shrimp. It was amazing. The mac n cheese was extremely awesome. That is my recommendation.

Visited Freshwaters tonight. Had an awesome time. Food was great. I had the fried shrimp and the beans and rice, delicious . I truly enjoyed the jazz musician tonight. The food, the atmosphere , the music, everything was absolutely wonderful. Thank you Freshwaters.

Nice little spot. Small but sweet. Great food! Menu is kind of small but everything we tried was good. They even had a live sax player which was nice! The only drawback was the service. We were served by Miss freshwater herself! Lovely lady. We had to repeat things though. I think they need more wait staff and they need to be Tip-Top to make this a five-star place. I will be visiting again.
