Had a really nice time at Foxface Natural. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful, highly recommend the sturgeon appetizer. Would love to come back!

Creative and delicious, good vibes, kind and knowledgeable staff. Scallops were a true standout for me, incredibly rich dish with the custard and caviar. Thought it was a nice touch serving the skewered quail organ meat and head after getting the main entrée - I enjoyed it even just as something to react to - felt like a risk and I was happy they took it. I felt like the atmosphere would have benefitted from just slightly more space, and we were by the front door, but it gave a buzzier and more cozy or familiar neighborhood feel. Absolutely a destination and continues to deserve good press and accolades!

Reservation was cancelled without any notifications, even though it still shows up on Resy. Really bad scheduling and communications. In reply to the restaurant’s comment below: 1. First of all, we were 10min late, not 25 min. We were standing there while waiting for the staff to figure out the logistics and until nothing can be resolved and we walked out of door around 6pm, 30min after our reservation time. Simply ignoring the fact and blame customers is not the appropriate way to do any business. 2. Second, yes we contacted and tried to reschedule. But the restaurant rudely refused and pointed us to Resy. RESY cannot reschedule and will charge $50 cancellation fee. As a result, we still travelled an hour to show up, only to find reservations were cancelled. 3. Even in the case of cancellation, no proper email or phone calls are made to the customers. This is not really the way to treat your customers in the city. I understand small restaurants are very cautious of not wasting their reservations. There are lots of small and great restaurants in the city yet I’ve never encountered one who treated the customers this way. During our time standing in the restaurant, not a single apology was made and only kept telling us there was no way they can accommodate. To be fair, the review is not about food quality. For anyone wants to go, please be extra cautious about your reservations.

The quality of the food / ingredients and creativity in preparation are all top notch!! Especially loved the vegetables and lentils. The atmosphere is just okay - it's a little cramped and the chairs are not the most comfortable. The portions are also quite large (don't believe them when they say to order 2 or 3 appetizers AND 2 entrees for 2 people - that's crazy talk). We ordered 1 appetizer and 1 elk for two and it was so much food we didn't have room for dessert. Definitely want to return and try some of their more novel dishes. Would recommend coming with a group of adventurous eaters so you can try a bunch of different things.

The food is very creative and unlike your typically wine bar fare. The wine list is excellent and I will definitely be back for drinks. That said, the execution of the food we ordered was disappointing (to be fair, their claim to fame seems to be their raw bar, which we were unable to try as one guest can't consume raw seafood). We had the crispy snapper and their braised goat. Despite the spiel I got from the server about how they have the best seafood, it was overcooked, which was especially disappointing for a $49 entree. The server refused to accept that it was overcooked, saying it was the perfect temperature, but the end of the fish I had was dry and chewy. The braised goat, which also got lots of romancing from the server, lacked flavor and texturally was just one, big, mushy dish (braised goat, okra and eggplant. Too much mush). I left confused by the glowing reviews, but maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes.

Great food. Great wine. Fantastic service!
