My favorite venue for small shows and events. It has a really unpretentious, laid-back vibe. It's a DC institution for a reason! Their music-themed dance parties (Depeche Mode Dance Party, Cryfest-the Smiths vs. The Cure, etc.) are especially fun. The bar is cash-only so remember to bring plenty with you if you want to avoid the ATM line. The drinks are reasonably priced.
