Visiting from New York and had just read a recommendation from a Dubai local in The New Yorker magazine: this place is the absolute real deal. Small, cozy dining room is full of aromas and photos of Old Dubai. The menu is simple and straight-forward with fresh ingredients being the staple. I recommend the grilled sea bream (we ordered hot chili and lemon/thyme marinades) + crispy shrimp and green squid curry. Apparently the crab is main dish, however, and there is a special on Monday nights. Hint: make sure you visit the Oud Metha location specifically- this is the original and the setting is in a neighborhood
