Federal Donuts

Great donuts, but lacks variety. Sure, they have a rotating selection of very flavorful (but very heavily iced) fancy donuts. And sure the hot, fresh donuts are available in 3 different sugar dusted flavors (or even without sugar, which is quite nice and actually my favorite donut at the shop)... But, the base donut is always the same master donut (with some slight variations). Don't get me wrong, its a great donut and 99 times out of 100 I want a donut like this over a classic glazed yeast donut, but this will never be "the only donut shop you need" without the basic yeast donuts.

Donuts here are freshly made. Definitely try their chicken and donut combo it is to die for. Order the traditional flavors but the specials are great as well as you can mix and match. The donut mix is just right as the textures are soft on the inside and a lil hard on the out. Don't expect a long wait here. Just order and to. My friends and I loved our donuts and will definitely be back!

A+ fancy donuts. They always have a rotating menu introducing new and exciting things. They're never stale. Pun intended. The fried Chicken is always super crispy, juicy, and exquisite. My advice is to try as many flavors as you can by going back often because they're all awesome. Iced and hot coffee is top notch too.

Fresh donuts? Yes! Fried chicken made to order? Yes! Fried chicken good? Nah, it was dry, overcooked and salty. Which one I tried? The buttermilk...I didn't like it....may try one with a sauce.

Literally the best place ever. Try the chicken sandwich while you're at it. There isn't a hot donut that'll beat their standard cinnamon brown sugar.

Delicious donuts, they never disappoint, would recommend mixing the hot fresh and fancy. Employees at the South Philly location are great. It's my favorite FedNuts location, no place to dine-in but who cares when the donuts warm your soul.

Omg delicious!!!! My first time was no disappointment! The staff was so helpful in explaining how the ordering/donuts worked & we opted for the made to order kind. We loved the cinnamon sugar & cookies & cream 😋😋 the donuts were warm, the dough soft & the flavor AMAZING! A must try😁

Got the brown sugar cinnamon donut and the lavender donut. Both were amazing! I can't wait to go back.

This was my first time enjoying Federal Donuts (besides the one at Citizens Bank Park). I ordered 1/2 dozen hot & fresh. They were perfect. I ordered 2 of each flavor. The only one I didn't get to try was the cinnamon sugar. The cookies and cream was great. The strawberry lavender was to die for. On top of that, the coffee was even good. I will certainly be going back to try some more flavors and I'd love to try the chicken one day. This place is a MUST for any foodie in the area.

This original Federal Donuts location is so charming in it's rustic authenticity. The staff is always sweet. Beware that parking is non-existent at this south Philly neighborhood location.
