People were friendly. Food was good and hot, but $2.98 for extra cheese? The grocery store sells bags of cheese 2 for $4. I could have added my own extra cheese for that. Had I been told the price up front, I would have. Bill was already close to $30.00, cheese put me up over 30.

Been going here with my Dad since a young age. Love the original and all beef dogs. They use natural casing as the dogs have a snap to them. The don't skimp on the chilli. The fries were perfectly done super crunchy. Also the fries can feed a family of 5 if you get the large.

The trap food greasy spot in all of Pittsburgh that's centralized for all around to go to. Fell off years ago due to the violence that was there in the area but has been very safe as of late. Great spot for your fried munchies, pizzas, world famous ðŸŸ& beef hot dogs and beer. Go to Five Guys next door for your burger fix. Dogs & fries are pricey so bring enough 💰.UPDATE !!!As of the end of April, the Original Hot Dog Shop had closed it doors. Was rumored that Mark Cuban was going to save the restaurant but it's official, after 70 plus years.

This was my 1st time there. Food was hot and very good. The server behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. I will go back again!!

I gave it 3 stars because the service was kinda slow and there was not a crowd in there. They were just taking their sweet old time. I used to go to Pitt years ago and this place was a staple for my college days. The food was still good the service wasn't bad it was just slow for the amount of people that were in there. I got the Chicken O Club with fries. Their fries are some of the best in the business. A lot of families were in here eating today when I was there. I got a parking spot right in front of the place and parking was free for the holiday weekend I believe. Thanks City of Pittsburgh.

This place is hot, dirty, and the service was kinda grumpy. I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was everything I ever wanted. Would definitely go back.

There is nothing anywhere that can begin to describe "The O." They have the best hot dogs and the best fries you'll ever eat. The hot dogs are all-beef and the small order of fries is so big, two people can't finish it. Everybody loves "The O" and you will too.

Closed on Sunday and I had a great parking space too. Their fries and hotdogs are the best and taste the same way they did when I was in College. Real fresh cut french fries with cheese and ketchup better than I make at home because I didn't have to peel a d cook them.

The Original Hot Dog Shop, affectionately known as “The O†is an iconic eatery in Pittsburgh. Probably known for most it’s generous hand cut fry portions, The also boasts its own hot dog recipe exclusive to The O. As a frequent visitor I would recommend a dog and fry combination or a fish sandwich. The O is a great late night spot, or a place to kick back and enjoy some fries with friends. It’s not uncommon for guests to interact with the owners and employees as they most likely were classmates. I strongly believe The O is one of the most family friendly restaurants in Oakland.

Delicious. Iconic spot in Pittsburgh. The O did not disappoint on flavor. However, service is slow but deliberate.
