This is really the only Chinese place I have ever eaten at simply because it's closest to my home. I do think that the food and service is good overall, with the exception of one visit when I stopped in the morning (they had just opened not long before that, around 11 or something) because my sister wanted me to bring her some lunch from there. I think 35 minutes is too long for a single order of sweet and sour chicken and fried rice, but I have been back since then and never had an issue.

Summary: It'll do.The people who run the place are very friendly and helpful when you order. Like most Chinese restaurants in Tallahassee, you tend to get a lot of food for the price, but the flavor and food quality is unremarkable. There are no 5-star Chinese places in this town. They wouldn't last here. And darned few merit 4 stars. If you don't believe me, eat Chinese food in San Francisco or NYC and compare. If you are the typical Tallahassee customer who likes the deep fried stuff, then it really doesn't matter which Chinese restaurant you visit. If you care about freshness and flavor, Emerald Garden is okay, but not a place you'll be excited about.

Ordered egg rolls and spring rolls and was very disappointed. Really just fried tubes of cabbage with no seasoning, carrots, onions or any other flavor enhancing ingredients. Very little meat, found 1 shrimp. They were all cabbage and nothing else that we could discern.

We ordered delivery last night and it was fantastic! The delivery was quick, even in the middle of the horrible storm. The General Tso's Chicken was fantastic and so were the egg rolls and crab rangoon. We also got the honey chicken wings and they were great! Definitely recommend!!
