by far the worst middle eastern place I ever had and I am a huge fan! The falafal had a super strong anise flavor (not edible; it felt like I was biting into potpourri instead of a falafel) to make up for the bad falafal they offered rice pudding “on the house” but unfortunately we couldn’t eat that either as it was drenched in rose water; again, oversaturated with aroma as if to cover up for other lacks. Even though I didn’t eat my falafal plate and complained profusely they still charged me full price for everything. The cheese burger my son had seemed to be burned on a rancid uncleaned grille; it tasted terrible but he was hungry and ate almost half.., then he said he is getting a tummy ache....The waiter was nice and apologetic but we left hungry and $35 short with some terrible aftertastes in my mouth I am still trying to erase hours later! Hate to leave a bad review but this place really deserved it.

My very first experience at Elie's was fantastic... Good atmosphere, great food, and good drinks. However, the second time around, my girlfriend found a dead cockroach in her food... That, my friends, was not great to say the least... The owner reached out and brought in a health inspector, but my image of this place is forever negative...

I just love their food. I always get good service there. The place is well organised and the workers are always super friendly. Will visit here again.

I’ve been to Ellie’s a lot and love it but the Last few times I’ve been really disappointed especially last night I was there with 4 other people. We got there at 8, the waiter kept on rushing us to ordering our food the moment we got our appetizers, than one of us ordered salmon and took a few bites we noticed it was raw and not cooked all the way, we told our waiter, instead of him giving us a new fresh salmon he says put it on a different plate so they can cook it some more! Service was horrible, and so disappointed at how they were rushing us out of there when they close at 11 every night!!

Best restaurant in Birmingham.Doug the bartender is caring and will make you anything.Food is very good and fair for downtown Birmingham.Prices lower than Phonecia and food pretty close.Bread is the best.I highly recommend it.

Great outdoors seating in the summer time, I tried their Taboule, hummus and Baba ghanouj tasted amazing.

Elie's is one of my favorite spots for Mediterranean. Lunch is great, the soups are awesome, my 5 and 7 yr old love the chicken noodle and my favorite is the chicken shawarma wrap. They have the best hummus and hot bread you can get anywhere. Other favorite is the chicken pot pie. They have a small bar but the bar tenders are great. Nice outdoor seating in the summer. Reasonable prices for Birmingham.

Always good food and the best hummus in town. If you’re not up for a big meal try the Mediterranean Sliders with a side of hummus. Good stuff.

The best Food ever I have Excellent Service

I get to eat here a lot since I work nearby. I like how the customer service is always good and they keep the place well kept at all times. Rates are convenient and they serve big portions.

Ordered to go. Picked up and was confident. Got home 20 min away and was missing garlic. :-(

They refuse any substitutions- even if you have an allergy. My husband has celiac disease and they refused to change his cous cous to rice without an upcharge. Very disappointing and the food was just fair. I would not recommend, especially if you have any allergies.

Small. Portions. They ran out of bread at 9pm.service is poor. Insanely. Small. Portion. I got half a chicken breast for 23 bucks. I'd never come back
