Stopped here while I was in town. And I must say, I wish this place was in my hometown. This place was bright, clean and the staff was friendly. In short words it's hard to forget how the first bite of food tasted and how I reacted. The Beer is also great. I highly recommend anyone to visit this place.

This place serves yummy food! I enjoyed our food so much. My friend loved his drink too. We had chicken wings, pork and ham board. They were all super delicious. The staff and bartenders are super nice too! I highly recommend this place.

Some of the most creative and best food I've had in a long time. Shared a bunch of the appetizers. You can sit in the dining room, the bar with TVs, or the outside sitting area. Each has a distinctive character.

The food here is incredible! You must go on a Wednesday and order the Beer Can chicken. It's a smoked chicken with great smoke flavor down to the bone. The chicken was cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside yet wonderfully moist on the inside. The chicken and waffles were also a delight with incredible flavors all around. Never knew waffles could be so good. The oak smoked chicken wings are a must have. While they are quite dry they make up for it with all the flavor and crunch you can imagine. The accompanying tarragon sauce and to the incredible flavor of the wings.

We visited the Williamsburg area from out of town for the weekend and The Amber Ox was our favorite meal of the trip! Our waiter was attentive, the food was fresh, and the cocktails were delicious. We tried multiple appetizers and loved the tomato toast and pimento cheese. There was a bit of a wait between dishes but I preferred that and felt it was well paced. We arrived early, around 5p on a Sunday and didn't have to wait, but it got busier as the night went on. Definitely check it out!

This place exceeded expectations. It's been 15 yrs since I've been in Williamsburg. It has changed. Great brewery and fantastic food. We had two appetizers. The pork board and the poutine ... Both were outstanding! It's a lot of food to get both, luckily we shared it.

Took a much needed break from our soccer tournament and found this gem of a restaurant. Food was insane, even got to try some hot sauce that they had entered into a contest the day before we got there. The chicken and waffles were to die for, the flavors meshed perfectly and was a hefty portion. Beer flights were reasonable and delicious. Highly recommend and will be coming back next time we are in Williamsburg.

All I can say is that this place is worth it! The beer was fantastic! The food... Well let's just say our plates were cleaned! The chicken and waffles were excellent as was the burger. We also had the ham fritters and chicken wings which were exceptional. Wished I lived closer so that I can come here more often!

My husband and I chose this restaurant simply from the cool logo, this was hands down the best restaurant/brewery experience we have ever had. Our server (I think his name was Dylan) had only been there a month and was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. He was able to give beer recommendations based on our reported preferences and explain the locally sourced menu and how various menu items were prepared. The food was incredible and the restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere whether you are sitting in the dining room or in the bar. We cannot wait to return and eat here again, top notch service and food quality. If you enjoy craft beer and good food, this is a must visit!

It get a little loud. We love the staff and the food. I like to get a flight of beer and try the one I am curious about. Recommend for beer and non-beer lovers alike if you agree give me a thumbs up. Cheers. E.

Fantastic! Great atmosphere and GREAT FOOD! We had the beet salad and the Brussels sprouts appetizers, the squash soup, kids burgers, shrimp and grits, and turkey & bacon sandwich. All were EXCELLENT, as was the Bloody Mary. The chocolate pudding with bourbon caramel sauce was a perfect dessert. We were absolutely thrilled with everything, and the service was 5 stars. Can't wait to go back!

The beer at Amber Ox Public House is top notch. I am here from San Diego and have been privileged to be at one of the beer capitals of the country, and I stand by that Precarious Breweries beer is top notch. I tried 3 of their Ipas and they were all delightful. Their bar food was also very pleasant, and I highly recommend their pimento cheese.

What an atmosphere. Chill vibe with housemade cocktails muddled with fresh herbs. The brews were delicious. Wasn't hungry for food since I had already eaten but the shrimp and grits did sound tempting. Need to go back for a cocktail next.

Delicious and the beer is good too! We sat at the shared tables and really enjoyed the company. Comfortable, cozy but with abundant space. You could hear your companions, while also being able to hear around you. I like it. Food was delicious and the wait staff was busy yet aware of our needs.

If you want delicious food and beer in a hip environment - this is your place. They brew their own beers and their twist on the everyday menu such as wings and burgers is so good you won’t be able to eat wings anywhere else. We stopped here on the way to Richmond after following their social media and we will definitely stop again the next time we’re passing by.
