El Patron Mexican Grill and Bar

This is is pretty good for upscale Mexican. Seen to use fresh ingredients and have a unique take on many dishes. Pretty large menu and also a separate brunch/lunch menu (that is much smaller). Prices seem slightly high for quantity, but given it's considered an upscale place with a trendy vibe, the prices aren't bad. If you want Mexican and are downtown, it's you're only option (unless you count sangria's on Richmond), but it's worth a stop in. My favorite is the vegetable lunch fajitas.

Everytime I come here I have a great experience. Came twice this week! The staff is absolutely amazing. That bar can be packed 4 wide and they are pouring drinks like nobody's business. Fast and efficient. Mind you these are signature coctails that involved several fresh ingredients and they had it mulled and mixed by the time I settled in. The servers have a great attention to detail and really put pride in making sure your order is just right. The kitchen staff are so good at what they do. From the flavor to the presentation the whole experience is an absolute delight. Atmosphere is perfect. The vegetarian menue with vegan options is the best. Cant wait until next time.

Really good food. Outdoor seating. Offers a good vegetarian menu, but you have to ask for it. Good, friendly service. Reasonably priced. Oh and the margaritas are pretty good too.

Hands down the best Mexican food in Appleton or any surrounding area. The price is the same as anywhere else, and their margaritas put all others to shame.It also has the added benefit of being on the side of downtown where the good bars are, so dinner followed by going out is always ideal.

This place is incredible. It seems to always be busy, but it's worth the wait. The Margarita flights were incredible - every flavor was better than the last. I really enjoyed the tacos too. Atmosphere was great, and the service was even better. Can't say enough nice things about this place - you have to check it out!

Okay, so when they were at the Richmond street location the prices and the food were better! As soon as they moved to the College Avenue spot their food prices skyrocketed and their population increased immensely. Long wait time. Location, location, location, is everything. I haven't been here for 3 years, but I'm sure it's still good.

Oh wow, what a great spot! The enchiladas were fantastic and the sauce was mind-blowing!!! Ordered the house margaritas and they were good. Service was friendly and we will be back for that alone. It is a little on the pricy side for Appleton, but worth it for a good date night spot!

It was a little pricey but OMG it was so worth it!! that was the best Cinco de Mayo lunch ever!!!

Always busy, but so worth the wait. I remember when they first opened at a small little location to now at their new larger restaurant and nothing has changed. Still great food and great service!

We enjoyed our lunch. I had the rice bowl with chorizo and my husband has 3 alacarte tacos. The food was delicious, service was great.

This is the first time I've been here. The food was good, although not the best I've had. The staff was very friendly and helpful - even seated us at a table where we could have a bit more room and have a high chair out of the way. The music playing was great, the art delightful, and the overall ambience very pleasant. A beautiful experience.

Their food is always AMAZING and their service is even better! I dine in and I also order to-go food and I’ve never been disappointed! Antonio, one of the bartenders, is always so friendly and provides such quick service at the bar! By far my favorite place to eat on College Avenue!
