The food is always hot and fresh. Some of the best homemade flour and corn tortillas in town. The salsa is chunky and served warm with hearty and warm chips. A tad on the pricey side, but the quality and quantity more than make up for it. They have really good lunch special and their breakfast is top notch. My only complaint, is service is just a little slow when wanting refills and you have to stand in line to pay vs paying your server. Other than that, great place!01/07/2019 - This is one of my most visited Tex-Mex spots in San Antonio. I just had the Caldo de Res and it was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a generous bowl of piping-hot goodness! Tender meat, vegetables cooked just right, rice on the side, and home made corn tortillas. It was just fantastic! If you’re craving some delicious hot caldo as the temperatures drop, you can’t go wrong with El Palmar.
