Great service, great atmosphere, all around great vibe! Great chicken tacos!! An strawberry margaritas!! Definitely would keep coming

El Cid was an Ok place for breakfast. Food was very good drinks are overpriced.

What a hidden gem! El Cid can look a little unassuming on the outside, but in the back they have really cute outdoor seating. The server was so nice and she brought out our drinks so fast, which were delicious margaritas btw. Our food came out equally as fast which was also delicious. And all for an extremely reasonable price. The best part though was when the owner came out with some samples of a new drink he was making and gave one to everyone sitting on the patio. What a perfect place. I will 100% be coming back.

Amazing food (I ended up ordering two tacos... TWICE!) and excellent service. Great patio in the back as well. The tacos (chicken, al pastor, grilled fish, and carnitas) were just the right size. Get them mexi style with onions and cilantro and heap on their spicy salsa for the best flavor. If I'm in the Chicago area again (I'm from Long Beach, California) I'll definitely come back.

I was there for a birthday party and tried a new brand of Tequila, AVE. It made for a smooth tasting Margarita.

The food is incredible. The staff is really friendly. Two years in a row Ive had lunch here for my birthday and it was really awesome both times.

Love cute places like this. Great margaritas and the food was awesome. Our server was terrific...another place I can't wait to try again.

****ANOTHER RACIST ESTABLISHMENT **** I’m only giving this place one star because 0 stars is never a option unfortunately. I come in and the old lady who runs the front counter and answers the phone, immediately asks, “to go?”, I told her to give me a second and can I please see a menu. As I’m looking at the menu, she interrupts and asks once more, “to go?” I then responded with, “did I say to go?”… she then went silent; she didn’t even attempt to ask if I wanted to dine in or seat me or even give me time to look at the menu. Once I decided to dine in another guy who’s not browned-skinned comes in after me, she immediately just greets him. She does NOT keep subtlety attempting to force him to take his order to go but allows him to take the time to respond after she greeted him. I call the waitress who was working tonight( 4/10/22) over to inform her of this incident and she says to me “that’s her attitude, I am sorry about that. I, myself treat everyone equally”, basically confirming that’s the kind of establishment this is, and that lady does in fact show discrimination toward guests. At that point the waitress is cleaning my table without permission pretty much RUSHING me out of there basically as if I’m not welcomed as 2 other people over to the right of me who were also not browned skinned like the guy who came in after me, were eating comfortably at their own pace, with no one rushing over to clean their tables without confirmation that they were finished, but letting them enjoy their dinner. I am REPULSED. Clearly black people are not welcomed here— smfh. When is it going to end?? I ADVISE YOU TO NOT SPEND A DIME HERE. THANK ME LATER! Edit: THEY HAVE RESPONDED TO EVERY REVIEW BUT MINE. Point proven. Disgusting.

The food was good and plenty. Burrito a la Chimichanga was stuffed with so much beef that I couldn't finish it all (definitely a rarity) but the garnishes, guac and sour cream, could've been more plentiful. The free chips and salsas made up for it though. I don't know if it's because I went at an in-between hour (3pm), but the place was pretty empty and the waiter would disappear on me for 10+ minutes at a time. I had to walk to the bar to ask for my check.

I come here at least once a week. I am a regular. When my family is in town, this is a favorite stop. I can't understand why I've never had a decent customer service experience here. First timers will be warmly greeted and attentively served but I find myself being overlooked and flat out ignored. There is one person I can rely on to be at least cordial but if they aren't working I always feel like they'd rather I not be there. After this last visit I'm asking myself why I keep coming back.

Great back patio. Fajitas tasted like rubber gloves. Margaritas were shockingly sweet and synthetic

I found this place just by walking and using google for good places in the area as I was leaving the Sunday market in Logan square. It was deathly hot out. So food and something cold to drink to the rescue. Nancy was nice and very patient and helped me to pick some great options to eat. Hands down the cheese and cactus tamal was my favorite. I suggest everybody try it. I could’ve eat like 5 of those. The salsa was good. I like spicy so it was on point. I would t have mind a little more spicy but I understand provided for the masses is important. I also got the chicken chimichanga and side of rice. I loved that the chicken in the chimichanga was well seasoned. That’s important. Rice was moist and flavorful. Check out my photos below! Patio was nice. Tables come with umbrella or there are some that are shaded with trees. Either way it’s nice on the back patio. Some flies around but I think that’s warranted when you’re outside eating. Maybe the owner could spray every now and then to keep them away. But they weren’t too bothersome. I definitely enjoyed my meal and overall experience.

Love this place! Monica and Old Juan are lovely. I’m coming back to try the food and to visit Monica and Old Juan!

What I liked about this place is the excellent qualities of ALL the ingredients from the gordita dough to the consistency of the beans. Its authentic and delicious as well as having a very cute and powerful summer evening party vibe.

Delicious food and delicious margaritas all reasonably priced. Outdoor patio is cute and our service was great!
