Dumpling Den

Incredible people. If you venture to the Dumpling Den, make sure you say hello to the mom and pop chefs. They’re the nicest people. Their reputation that I’ve heard is that they make great home style food that is typical in Shanghai. I went in for dinner and was delighted. The prices are amazing. Great casual spot for great food at awesome prices. Amazing wait staff. And they’re environmentally friendly. Almost everything they serve on is recyclable. If you’re a fan of dumplings and environmentally conscious, definitely check this place out. If I lived nearby, I would go every week. Dumpling prices are extremely fair. Try the whole menu. We went for an 8 person dinner and ordered a bunch of items, tapas style.

Great new casual Shanghainese Chinese place in Fort Lee. Nice, friendly staff and the service was quick. Overall the food was very good, but I especially enjoyed the crab & pork soup dumplings. The soup dumpling skins are very nicely made; thin enough to just make out the clean-flavoured broth and filling inside. Ordered at the counter and the food arrived quickly, but we never felt pressured to hurry up and finish. I definitely recommend this place for a quick delicious meal in a casual clean setting and a great value.

Visited during the soft opening. Tried the pork soup dumplings, braised pork belly mini bao, beef mini bao, hit sour soup, scallion pancakes, spicy oil wontons and the black fungus. All tasted terrific. The spicy oil wontons had a little of that numbing spice. The best of our meals was the pork belly mini bao. Pricing a little high for dim sum type food but the service was great. All staff was very friendly. Kept clearing all used paper plates and bowls.
