Excellent service and delicious seafood offerings! We enjoyed celebrating a birthday at Dukes. Great place for seafood and beautful views of Commencement Bay.

Literally probably the best sandwich I’ve ever had; sweet potatoes, ranch, and chowder was soooo good!! If you go to Tacoma I 100% recommend this place, amazing food, kind workers, and super clean!

What can you say about a restaurant on the water, serving the freshest seafood with amazing taste, and great service? If your looking for these things then Duke's is the place to go.

This is a terrific find on the Tacoma waterfront. Not at all what we were expecting but quite happy that we found it. We were in for an early dinner and it wasn’t too busy but by the time we left, it was really getting packed! The restaurant is nicely segmented so there was a cozy feel but they have spaces that were capable of holding a larger group. We got an excellent table by a window with a lovely view of the waterfront. Our server was quite attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, walking through our myriad questions with patience. Appetizer was the maple bacon seafood bites. One scallop and one shrimp wrapped in bacon with a bacon glaze. Yum. I opted for the three course meal, soup, salad, and entree. Soup was the Lobster Mobster chowder and it was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Warm, smooth, rich, creamy. The salad was the Sweet Caper Spinach Salad, a wonderful combination of bacon, almonds, chopped eggs, and tomatoes over baby spinach leaves with a slightly sweet, slightly tart vinaigrette. My entree was the two piece Oh My Cod & chips. Pretty hefty slabs of fish very lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Super moist fish, plenty tender, and the dill tarter was the perfect compliment. If I had a beef with this, I could have used about 50% more ‘chips’. They were just average French fries and the only way to improve is to offer a few more of them. My wife’s meal was the Prawn, Scallop & Crab “Un”Cake Mixed Grill. The only thing I sampled here was the “un” cake (crab cake). This is hands down the best I have ever had. No doubt, 100% exceptional. This is so good they have crabs lining up to give their life for this cake!! Two amazing flavorful sauces with this, too. Be aware, this is not cheap eats but it’s a fine value for the dining dollar when combining all the elements of food, atmosphere, service, location, etc

Best fish and chips I have had in Washington state! Great food, great service, and tidy dining accommodations. It was pretty packed on a Friday, but they were able to seat my party of two within 20 minutes or less. It is the priciest fish and chips I have had before, but the quality makes it well worth it! The waitress was kind, patient, and checked in with us often. I will definitely be back. I ordered food for pick up here recently and tried the Chipotle Havarti Bacon Burger. I was scared to order a gourmet burger to have at home out of fear of a sloppy mess or lower quality food compared to dining in, but I was pleasantly surprised! They separated out the hot items, cold items, and sauce so the burger can be composed at home. I have to say, this was the BEST burger I have had in a very long time! It is clean and an elevated quality that makes it well worth the price. The taste is balanced, with the condiments, and the meat to bun to condiment ratio is spot on. Plus, the fries were great too, nice and kind of wedge style fries that were still nice and warm/hot when we got them home. I ❤️ this restaurant!

The Award Winning Clam Chowder is literally the best clam chowder I have had in my entire life. It's thick, hearty and has layers of flavor within the individual ingredients. Also, the Calamari steak strips are by far superior, fresh and clean tasting in comparison to any I have had at any local restaurants. I'm so impressed. The servers are very experienced and attentive. You get to eat this fabulous meal while overlooking the Puget Sound. Every seat in the restaurant has a view of the water. There is even seating available outside of you wish. The facility is clean, including the bathrooms. I will definitely be coming back. This is becoming my favorite place to eat.

We had the pleasure of having Wade as our server and he was amazing. Super nice, attentive, and educated in the food and gave good recommendations. We’ve visited Dukes a couple times and the waiter was never memorable until today. Wade went above and beyond for us, the meal was amazing but his customer service made the whole experience even better. Definitely ask for Wade as your server you will not leave unsatisfied.

Great place to visit with a pretty view of the water. Beautiful restaurant on the inside. The staff is accommodating and easy to get along with. The prices are what is to be expected these days. The food was pretty good but not the best seafood I've had. Great salsa with the chips side order and huge fish tacos. It was almost all great. Just not the freshest tasting fish which would be the reason we came here. Both my fish in my tacos and girlfriend's in fish and chips had a pretty loud smell and tasted pretty fishy. Maybe others are not so sensitive. It wasn't that bad or anything but we were surprised given the hype that it wasn't better. If I lived nearby I'd try it again and hope to get a better night since everything else was just fine.

Updated 27 Aug 22- Another wonderful experience with our waiter Wade. This gentleman is the best. Great attitude and wonderful attention to detail. Knows the drink menu and speaks with passion while discussing the new menu options. Thank you sir for being super kind and relatable no matter who your serving. My wife and I had a wonderful outdoor dining experience today! We arrived at 11:00am with a outdoor reservation and was politely escorted outside. The view was amazing and the weather was perfect! I wish I could remember our waiters name but all I can say is that he had cool vibes and made me feel comfortable. We shared 2 appetizers, Super Calamari Steak Strips and Topless Wild Alaska Salmon Sliders and ordered a mixed cocktail a piece. Well, she had 2 😆! The Calamari was thick and meaty and placed on a Parmesan crisp. The open faced Salmon sliders, which come with 3 was Amazing. Something everyone’s pallet should experience. Both appetizers were good but the sliders should be made as a sandwich….sooo good! Like ice cube said….today was a good day.

Gluten free and incredible!!!!! We had the best time. I tried 2 of the chowders (all are gluten free!) And the seafood salad was delicious. The views were amazing. 5 stars all around

Fresh and tasty said my palette! Our salads were fresh, with good veggies and mine with scallops and shrimp (in addition with my favorite, avocado). Those fried Cod tacos though were a hit! They're not on the menu, but they were willing and able - great creation indeed. Thanks for frying my sweet potato fries crispy like I like I them!

The food, service, and view was amazing👏 we ordered the crab stuffed salmon and salmon Alfredo, it was fantastic & cooked perfectly. If you like crab you must try the crab cakes as well, they are the best I've ever had!! Will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful dinner spot out on the balcony if it's nice weather. The service was great, very friendly staff. Food was delicious, I got a blackened salmon pasta dish with a cream sauce that tasted similar to Alfredo, it was amazing. I forgot to take a photo until I ate half of the salmon but it was all perfectly seasoned and salmon wasn't too blackened, it was full of flavor. You get delicious warm sourdough bread with butter for the table. The world famous clam chowder was worth getting, very flavorful, go for the small, it's not much so the dinghy would probably leave you wishing you had a few more bites.

Amazing food and our waiter was awesome, he had worked there 8 years. The chowder is well worth it, along with the calamari appetizer. It also has a great view.
