Downwind Restaurant & Lounge

Great food, great service. Love the view of the airport! Enjoyed watching the planes taxi out and coming in. Their hamburgers are the best. Had the Greek spaghetti and it was amazing!

We really did not come with high expectations when we found the Downwind Restaurant, we were only looking for a dining option that could include grandchildren. This place was great! The food was delicious, there were healthy options, and there are chicken nuggets and grilled cheese for the kids. The prices are fair, the service is fantastic, and they were very accommodating. I highly recommend.

A great little restaurant off the beaten path; well, right next to a small airport, in any case. The view of planes taking off and landing was a highlight for the younger children, and the food and service were excellent. Nearby is a nice playground for the children to enjoy before (or after) the meal.

Good food for the price. My son had a cheeseburger and I tried it, very good burger. I had the salmon blt, alos very good. Fun atmosphere for kids with the planes and helicopters taking off and landing every few minutes. We were disappointed that we were not able to sit near the outside windows and look at the planes while we ate. Also there is no elevator up to the restaurant level. Realized that after we had rolled up with the stroller. Would have been a 5 star rating if not for those last 2! Still highly recommend if you have little kids who like flying.

I love everything about this place - not because the interior of the restaurant is beautiful (it is not) or because the food is gourmet (it is not). Rather, the atmosphere is relaxed, the staff is great, the food is fine, everything is reasonably priced, and sitting on the flight line is fun. It was a pleasure to see the planes coming and going. The only ‘complaint’ (which is actually my wife’s complaint) is that the waitress was flirting with me, but I did just turn 37, so it was a needed ego boost. Lol! Seriously though, if you have some time to kill and someone you enjoy spending time with, then this is a great place to visit. But I would not recommend the margarita.

Very very good food! I definitely recommend this place plus you get to watch the planes. It's very cool and service was amazing. Very happy and satisfied!
