The food and drinks are reasonable and are delicious too. They have Saturday Sunday brunch for $30 with unlimited food and beer during the happy hour. Literally we have to go down the hatch as it is located in the basement.

Awesome bar laid back staff, really nice atmosphere. I order the mozzarella sticks they came out right away and were cooked to perfection. My buddy got the wings and also out immediately (been to alot of bars and the food coming out that quick was amazing) food was great staff was great. I cant wait to come back to NYC just to stop by this bar.

Place is small...bartender was taking the lemons with his hands , peeling the plastic of the straws and putting in drinks, handling money all without gloves. Please give the customer the straw with the wrapper on and use thongs to pick lemons. 3 stars because the wings were good. No place to sit and eat ....ate standing up....

Nice little bar. Quiet when we went, but glad we discovered it.

My girlfriend and I were in New York 2 years ago, visiting from Toronto. We're talking about going back and the first place that came to mind was Down the Hatch, and how we have to go back. They made a great impression. Down the Hatch was super chill, very easy going vibes & the food was great. In fact we specifically mentioned how we're getting the Smothered Tots when we return. Great food all around. Wish I could give 6 stars. Thanks for the great experience in NY, you'll definitely be seeing us soon!

Had a beer and shot of tequila. Service person was slow with drinks. Cool little place. I would go back with friends.

We’ve been coming to dth close to ten years for football sundays. Best beer and wings deal in the city. It’s a bummer they stopped putting the game audio on tho. Hearing fall out boy on repeat instead of the game is torture.

Great dive bar with amazing wings. Domestic beers are typically on happy hour. My favorite part is having truly on draft.

If you're in the area and just want an inexpensive place to hang out and have some drinks with your buddies, this is a great place to do so, and to enjoy some tater tots or wings. There's always a good drink special happening, and the bar food, while very solidly bar food, is usually pretty tasty after a pitcher or two. Bartenders are always friendly and nice. Once, I left a tote behind, and they found it and held it for me to pickup the next day, which is always appreciated.

My favorite bar. They have the happiest happy hour from 12 noon to 8pm Mon-Fri with different drink specials after 8pm. The bartenders are attentive and quick with the drinks. There's a beer pong table in the back. Bathrooms are small but clean.

Decent low key basement bar. I like the vibe. Saw it on the list of best bars for hooking up and best bar for undergrad NYU college students... I don’t know about that. I tell you this much, saw a lot of students... but I didn’t see one student I would wanna hookup with and I’ll leave it at that ðŸ˜!!! Maybe I came on the wrong night 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸. Also I saw people saying the drinks are cheap. I paid $8+ for a beer... not sure if you would call that cheap. It’s pretty much the average you’d pay in NYC.

Down the Hatch is my go to place for beer, wings and fun with friends. The waffle fries are great! Best in NYC I’ve had so far.
