I love this place! Picante Pita or Medi Pita for the non spicy food lovers. You MUST order with "chips" which are amazing fried potato slices.

Ummmm my food portions were so tiny I was shocked... I order a salad with cherries , goat cheese and tuna to go

Pasta was served in my carbona dish with out a full draining of it. Made it medium warm and very soupy will give it another try in October...Watch for my revisit.

My fiancé and I went to Douro for a romantic dinner on Saturday night and we were quite disappointed. The food was not good and I wld only recommend that place for a nice drink & perhaps a bar pizza. The atmosphere is modern and very nice. For our meal, I ordered the seafood paella and my partner had the pasta in cream sauce + 2 rosé. I had a coke. His portion was so ridiculously small (really!!) that we immediately knew that was just not enough food. Then my paella came out at room temp and I had to send it back to the kitchen to have it warmed up. It lacked seasoning, tasted so bland and the rice so undercooked that I did not finish it. We shared an apple dessert which was ok but not really anything wow! Sooo disappointing for our romantic get away and .....a $120 bill for pretty mediocre food.!!!

Food, drinks and service was good...some of small plates could have been better

It blows my mind this place isn’t busy all the time. I came here for a beer and was treated to a Sip of Sunshine. Nice bartender as well.

That was my second time at Douro. I like the service and the food. What was disappointing last night was that they asked us to leave because apparently you can hold the table for two hours only. Wish they mentioned it when I reserved the table. We were finishing our coffee and going to leave anyway. It felt very uncomfortable, never before I've been asked to leave. They brought the check without us asking for it, something you don't do in an upscale restaurant.

Unlike other reviewers, we thought the food was extremely hit or miss and possibly 3-star worthy, but the service was excellent. We are quick eaters, though, and like when food arrives very fast.Tacos are good but on the pricier end (~9 each), there was a lot of seafood in the paella ratio-wise, but the rice was meh and portion size looked small for a $40 serving. The $19 Israeli eggplant was likely too adventurous for us - we were not a fan of the cauliflower hummusTips are included, so mentally divide by 1.2 to speak to compare pricing with other places. Perhaps our sampling was insufficient, but for this pricing, we'd prefer Le Penguin

We loved the old Douro - across from Richard’s and the Apple Store. So, we decided to try the New Douro (formerly Gaia). Chef Rui is very good - especially with Portuguese Cuisine. Therefore, the food quality is very Good. The service was ok - but could have been better (hospitality is included - so the waitresses are not as focused on earning tips). The ambience is beautiful - but a bit noisy, as voices reflect off the curved tiles (like the Oyster Bar in Grand Central).Unfortunately, the prices have increased by 20% to cover the higher ambience and the included hospitality. I suggest they should allow tipping, improve service for a great dining experience. Enjoy!
