I came In last night for dinner with my husband and we were very pleased with the experience. When we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest host at the front who walked us to our table which had the most amazing view. I started off with a drink that was delivered in a Tiffany box and wow was it good! Our server Paris took excellent care of us by making sure we had everything we needed she even cleared our plates and refreshed them with new ones before our main meal came. I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely be back.

At times there service can be very good, but overall at dinner service they tend to lose track of you. This seems to be a result of no one having primary responsibility and instead at least 2 people having responsibility. Once my daughter and I sat there for 20 minutes before I had to get up and ask....just to get drink service and to place an order. At other times, there is a huge gap after having appetizers and before entrees. Overall most of the staff is friendly and personable but at times it simply runs way too long, especially at easily over $100/person. The final straw was the last time I was there, the tomahawk came out of the kitchen completely and utterly overcooked. Under normal circumstances I would have sent it back (as a last resort) but I did not have another 45 - 60 minutes to wait. Though they have constructed a beautfill restaurant with a decadent feel to it, I will not visit again.

One of our favorite restaurants over the years was Toro Bravo in Portland. We loved the tapas style dishes and would typically order several, happy to spend the kind of money for a great meal, When they closed permanently last year, we were sad. I first heard about Dos Alas last week and after reading the rave reviews and seeing the style of food, I was super excited to make a reservation! Making reservations 4 days in advance, we had the option of 415 or 845 for dinner on a Sunday night. 415 it was!! As we waited in the entry, lots of people coming into the restaurant. Everyone dressed nicely except for a pair of women in workout leggings, Nikes and hoodies. They definitely looked out of place. Most had reservations but a few walk-ins turned away. We were taken to our seats, and you can tell they were still figuring things out (being a new restaurant). The person seating was directed to set us at a high table but... I'm currently in a wheelchair so that wouldn't work =) We started with drinks and they are expensive!! Cocktails all listed at $20-$24 a piece. They had some punch bowls designed for 2 people, priced at $40 each, My husband got a standard margarita, nothing fancy, and it was $15! Any other bar this should have been $5-$8. If you have not been to this kind of restaurant before, it's typical to order throughout the meal and each person will generally order 2-3 dishes each. The food is delivered to your table as soon as its ready, Everything is then shared family style. The server will also let you know this. To start, our food order was Brazilian cheese bread, short rib empanadas, street corn and pork belly skewers. The cheese bread was jealous but as I bit into it, liquid came out onto my plate and my shirt. I am not sure if it was oil from the deep fry or from the garlic butter. The price for the bread was also high I thought. $8 for four pieces of bread, each about the size of a donut hole. The empanadas were really tasty but the filling was barely warm. Since they were served to us as soon as they were ready, I would have thought they would be hotter. The street corn was tasty but I am a spice wuss. I can't handle hot/spicy foods so could only eat 2 forkfuls. My husband gladly ate the rest. I was really looking forward to the pork belly but this dish didn't have a lot of flavor. It was sweet with the sauce but the pork itself was mediocre, We also ordered the lamb chops which I really liked, but I did not feel it was a $22 dish. Overall, I felt the prices were too high for the food served, I don't mind a high dollar meal if the food measures up. This meal did not We spent just under $100 ($97) and we left hungry. I could have ordered more food but I wasn't willing to spend more money there. (I went home and had a 50 cent can of tomato soup and it was more satisfying.) Dos Alas seems like it's just trying too hard. It's following the trend of the overpriced restaurants on the waterfront, but based on other reviews, people are gladly paying these prices! The decor is bright and young and feels more like a martini bar rather than a restaurant. If you're trying to impress a date, this could be a great option!

It usually takes my spouse bugging me to leave a review. But we had a such a good time I had to leave a note. We had the valentines prix fix menu for a special weekend outing. We both ordered the surf and turf as our mains. Ordered medium rare on the steaks. The steaks were massive, quality, 14 oz cuts. And cooked mostly to temp. A little inconsistent on the edges. But over all a darn good steak. I could have used a little more seasoning, but it’s a nit pick. I would highly recommend them. The prawns that accompany them were well grilled. And had a nice char taste. They were massive as well. Very happy with them. For appetizer I had the toast with jam candied bacon. They packed a ton on flavor into those slices of bread. Would recommend as well. Lastly we had the chocolate cake and Marion berry cheesecake as our deserts. Both were delicious. But I think the chocolate hit a little harder and was a little more rich. If I had to pick I would lean toward that desert. We drank the margarita flight with our dinner and my favorites of those 4 was the strawberry. All in all a wonderful meal. Our waitress, Nancy, took great care of us. They got us seated quickly. Ambiance is fun and lively. The view of the Columbia is nice as well. And price wasn’t too bad considering everything you receive. Give this place a shot. I will be back.

We had a great server tonight, and the food was delicious. My favorite items were the cauliflour w/sauce small plate, the pork belly skewers with the green and caramel sauces, the yukatan potatoes in the pork rib dish, the fish in the fish dish. Knowing to come back and order my favorite items, this will be a 5 star experience because of the server, food, ambiance, views. Some comments about items that I wouldn't try again (we ordered many things as we like to share and try as many new things as we can). We came for lunch. The fancy alfredo was not amazing and wasn't served via the cheese bowl. We got the steak with it as well, and was definitely not worth the price. The lamb was good with the lemony green pesto, too oily if you don't eat the pesto in the same bite. The pork soppa was interesting and good but not favorite. The marionberry cheesecake didn't do well with our group. The creme brulle had good parts and okay parts (huge, serves 2 at least). It was an orange creme brulle and they did that part of it well. The cherries they use are really good too. Something about the creme brulle custard texture was off, almost separating but still tasting very good. Would have been better if the custard was chilled and the sugar top hotter. The rice with the fish was very aldente and had an overly dominant lemon flavor.

Literally the best food I have had in the Portland/Vancouver area. The menu is wonderful, and the drinks are quality. The outdoor seating was both scenic and relaxing. This establishment is a little pricey, but the quality of the food and the good service was worth it. The server let us know ahead of time they were short staffed (July 4 Holiday), but he didn’t miss a beat. Great service, great food. Visiting Portland about once per year and will definitely be a repeat customer.

This was a nice restaurant on the Vancouver waterfront. Its definitely upscale, as you coukd do a nice dinner here or even a date night. We just wanted a nice meal before our flight from the Portland airport, and we found this place. The food and service was excellent. It wasn't crowded, so we sat at the bar. I had the fettuccine pomodoro with shrimp, and my wife had the ancho grilled salmon. My wife said her salmon dish came together perfectly with the arugula salad & guajillo mashed potatoes she paired it with. My portion of the fettucine was perfectly cooked, and it was enough to actually qualify as two meals, with perfectly-cooked shrimp set atop the dish. Our server/bartender was excellent, and gave great, attentive service. You also get nice views out of the window of the Columbia River & the Oregon-Washington bridge, which got nicer as the sun settled. Parking is in the lot across the street for a couple of bucks.

Such a beautiful place. Outstanding view, great vibe on the Columbia River. Limited vegan options but there are a couple of choices that can be made vegan with simple mods. Beautiful cocktails and friendly welcoming service. Highly recommend.

We went there last night for dinner. We took my brother-in-law and sister-in-law here for their anniversary. This is a beautiful restaurant to visit and the seating inside and outside have wonderfull views of the river. The food presentation was nice as well as the music. We spent about $250 for the four of us to eat. We each had one drink and ordered a few types of food. Everything was wonderful until after we left and all four of us started feeling stomach sickness.

The bar was set high for the expensive prices. The food was good but not $80 for a steak that was way too salty good. Ribs were better and also cheaper, well seasoned and nice sauce. Waitresses were very nice, but also not super attentive no offense.

I go here often... this is the best spot in Vancouver. Maddie (the bartender) has the best service I've experienced. That's why I come here 2 times a week. I eat first class, and this place is first class.
