Friendly people, great food, quick service.

Others were served before us (we weren't locals), we waited forever for our food, after asking about the food they finally brought it--my entire meal (grilled chicken and french fries) was cold from apparently sitting for quite a while, and my husband's chicken salad plate had a hair on it as did my french fries (I took pictures). Nasty!

Wonderful local breakfast place. Very low prices . Friendly staff. Local items like pudding and scrapple. Easy on street parking. Never eaten there except breakfast but will try soon.

If you want a traditional breakfast from a country diner, head here. Get the cinnamon roll. Others raved about the scrapple. Portions were a nice size. Everything cooked as ordered and tasty.

Tess and her staff have a gem of a diner in charming downtown Smithsburg. We had breakfast today and the food is awesome. Best pancakes ever!! Visit it soon!

two days ago was the first time we came to that excellent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last time. We had great time with the generous service, with the exceptional cuisine and fine drinks and with the friendly payment. We will surely return there soon.

Hours are horrible. I love the food. I use to live a couple blocks from here. Hated how inconvenient the hours are! Not open on Monday. Closed early other days. Not open much at all on the weekend. They would make so much more money being open longer. However, didn’t give 1 star because the food is great.

The staff is amazing here and the food is good ole' fashion diner food. The prices cant be beat. You can feed a family of 4 for the price of 1 entree+appetizer at a big chain. Small town homey dining here. Love it!

Good small town food with small town friendly staff

I just can't say enough good things about little diners like this. It's one thing to make comfort food anybody can do that, but when you have a place that feels comfy too, well you've got nostalgia gold right there. When I'm traveling with family it's almost inevitable that we stop at some fast food chain and I don't ever expect my kids to have fond memories of the stale interiors and processed food, but watching their eyes light up at the sight of spinning bar stools and the food being cooked on the other side of the counter reminds me that it's good to stop and sit down, even if it means a few more minutes to your trip. My boys said "best grilled cheese sandwiches ever." So if you're camping in the Catoctin Mountains, or being presidential at Camp David, but want a friendly environment with comfort food, you can't go wrong with this place.

Great place to eat. The food is excellent, the portions are huge and all the employees are super friendly. The pricing is very fair and they welcome hikers warmly. They even have wifi.

A perfect meal stop, but we just stopped in for a snack on a hot afternoon. Their ice tea was great, but you also gotta try asking for their fresh fruit bowl with a scoop of ice cream on top. It's not on their menu, but hopefully we started a trend. Hats off to the friendly staff. We'll be back again as we motorcycle through the area.
