Great food and staff. The mussels are a must. I'd recommend the white. I also had the duck. Crispy skin and the Cajun spices were just enough. My wife had the crab cake which was good but the portion was in the small side, get two. They make some nice drinks at the bar. They were out of a couple of things they needed to make their drinks which was disappointing. All in all we had a great meal. I definitely recommend it !

A friend and I visited here for Restaurant Week and it really surprised me. The food was delicious and interesting, the portions were generous, and our waitress was incredibly kind and helpful. She made sure we finished in time to get to our show at the Kennedy Center later that evening!

Second time eating at District Common. My first visit was great- good service and great tasting food. My second visit was disappointing. The service was still great however the food - or at least the dish I had, the South Philly - was bland. I had such high expectations for the beautifully colorful dish when it was presented, however it was devoid of seasoning and flavor. My friends had the house burger and oysters and enjoyed their meal. We’ll probably try the restaurant again and will try some of the dishes recommend by the server.

Went on Halloween and the service myself & colleges received was HORRIBLE. My server (tall slim guy) was very inattentive and wasn’t as personable. He didn’t make any suggestions or go over any specials (unimpressed). Being as though this was my first time in this restaurant i just kept it safe and decided to go with the burger (pretty decent). The pretzel bread is amazing btw.... Fast forward, me and my colleagues felt rushed and didn’t even get to enjoy our dinner. Dessert menu looked good but because dinner experience wasn’t as pleasant we decided to skip it all together. It wasn’t really busy so we were confused as to why we felt rushed. Drinks were amazing though. Definitely would recommend the American beauty. Flavorful and delicious.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was welcoming and there were many people enjoying the bar scene here The food was fantastic. We had the shrimp and grits, the pasta and the rootbeer pork chop. Everything was flavorful, interesting, new and delicious.

This is a GREAT resturant. The food was esquisite. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food. I was taken there by my company. It is a little $$$ but worth it.

Excellent food and service. We had the red curry mussels, pork chop and house special fish (branzino). Drinks were also superb. Children's menu available, too, which is a plus. A lively atmosphere without being annoying.

Enjoyed the location near our hotel. Below sidewalk level, fun watching people walk by. Delicious food and really good menu.

I’d say this was a decent meal, but not mind-blowing. The cocktails were good. Overall it was a bit overpriced. We split a couple appetizers, the lamb chop special, and the key lime pie. The pie was the best part :)

This restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue is located near GWU and the Foggy Bottom Metro. Spacious and modern, the service was competent and friendly. The Korean pork chop was different and delicious with a kimchee rice cake. The pear pudding was a lovely dessert. I look forward to eating here again

District Commons is a great place to enjoy dinner or happy hour near GWU. This restaurant can become very busy particularly the bar area. District Commons has some very good happy hours which may be why. They also have oysters on the half. Districts Common has a variety of dinner offerings from hanger steak to salmon. My steak was cooked to order and the asparagus was a good accompaniment. The only downside was the service was spotty and our server disappeared so we were left without water or refills.

We waited 15 minutes past our reservation to get seated. Then we waited 10 minutes before anyone even came to get our drink order. Our oyster appetizer never came out. Dinner was ok. We had to send the bill back twice due to errors. Not impressed.

Great atmosphere with generally good food. The famed pretzel baguette is covered in oil which makes it less than desirable. The bartender offers very poor service. He's busy chatting with servers and ignoring customers and when he does finally pay attention he got the food order wrong. The food, when done correctly, was good. But the menu is somewhat strange especially for brunch.
