Dino's Carryout Restaurant

I was stuck at Johns Hopkins for a visit. It was late and wet. I hopped in my car and pulled into Dino’s lot. I have worked in Bed Sty, Camden, North Philly, Jersey City, 13th Avenue Newark and a host of other depressed blocks and cities. Long term street guys like me know the difference between a” dangerous ghetto hood” and a” hood”. Dino’s is in a” hood”. Pull into his lot, walk in and pick up your takeout. While the cast of characters you see on the street look menacing, they are just your typical hoodies. I placed a $45.00 order of take out, from Gyro’s to Chicken Salad, to fish sandwiches .All good .If I had gone to the local diner 5 miles away I would of paid 80 for this meal with the tip. I went back to my hotel room and enjoyed a terrific tasty fresh meal with my buds who all saluted Dino.

Visited here while at John's Hopkins Hospital. 1 block West. These are the hidden gems I look for while I travel or in this case not far from home. Some of the best carry out food I've had in a while. And is a big step up from the subway at the Hospital. Had the Gyro the first day, but other had steak and cheese and pizzas. Everything was delicious. The gyros were not the best I ever had, but definitely passable. Went back a second day and had the Famous Deluxe Steak with Cheese. Unbelievably delicious. In the top 3 steak and cheese I have ever had anywhere. The steak was cooked perfectly. The Deluxe has mayo, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, sausage and pepperoni slices. What a combination with such a great balance of flavors. I will definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area. I will also make a special trip whenever I want to experience this humble restaurant and carryout. It's 35 -40 minutes from home, but totally worth the trip.

They have some amazing food here and the service is top notch. And everything is reasonably priced here.
