Desserted Island Ice Cream

The ice cream was very good and the price was reasonable, however the employee on the job was a total grump. She has a total smug on her face and didn’t even try to pretend she wanted to be there. We still got our ice cream, but her sour attitude was very disappointing. Maybe she needs to get payed more or something to motivate her to be decently friendly.

Delicious place!-- Eclectic decor/atmosphere, plenty of items inside as conversation pieces, plus their ice creams, brownies, etc, yum!

Every now and then you happen upon a great place you can’t wait to share!! We have been to Port A every year for 15 years or so... how we have never came in here is beyond me, but here we are! Old fashioned Goodrich style ice cream... great flavors, great prices (cash only... but they have an ATM on-site). Great customer service even when we arrived only 15 minutes before closing. They have a TV area and several game areas to keep kids of all ages entertained! Stop in and show them some love!!

Pretty cool place. Ice cream and options are great. Give generous servings. Gave it 4 stars only because cash is required. They do have an ATM machine on site so that is helpful.

The place is cute with interesting decor. Cash only (atm inside). Outside seating available. The employees arnt super friendly and they are super stingy with their scoops. Nothing too special with this place. They dont make their own ice cream. The place was okay, I thought this place would be better honestly.

Icecream was ok. Nothing you couldn't get at the store. Only takes cash. People were nice.

The best. 16-18 different flavors. And they are not stingy.

We stopped in this weekend. This is always a stop my son looks forward to every visit. The employees have never really been overly friendly as others have said. This time, when we walked in we were assaulted by an awful smell, it was very hard to describe, kind of a stale wet dog smell. Very weird. We took our ice cream to eat outside. There was a group of about 8 people that went in and walked right back out, also complaining about the smell. I hope whatever that is you guys get fixed. It literally cost you money, probably at least 30 bucks just while we were there.

Drove from Padre Island just for desert. It was delicious! My husband had the banana split and I had the brownie. Excellent!

Decided to try Desserted Island Ice Cream in Port A (100 East White Ave)today and I must say it is delicious! I got a banana split, my daughter got a s'mores sundae and my husband tried a warm brownie Sundae. First time here and will not be the last. Brownies are fresh baked and they also had fresh apple pie as well!

The desserts were amazing! Cash only place, but they have an ATM in the building to use. The decor is so interesting and the games for kids are fun. A little understaffed for the amount of people that come through but it was definitely worth the wait. Recommend the Warm Brownie Sundaes!

I have ALWAYS wanted to stop here when visiting Port A. For years we’d drive by the bright pink building and it always looked so fun. Finally on our last trip I stopped. I walked in, walked towards the counter, and this grumpy old man was wiping the counter. He looked up at me, and looked back down and kept wiping. No smile, no hello, not even a “I’ll be with you in a second”. No problem- I’ll go else where! Grandpa needs to get a new job or retire. I went to Port A Creamery down the road and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by 2 very nice ladies who told me their specials and asked if I wanted anything in particular. I will never return to this place and will happily take my business down the road! :)

This is a real ice cream parlor. Great customer service. Bring cash only or ATM in store. You won't be disappointed.
