Desperados Burgers and Bar

Best burger in town and service. I've been to lots of burger places and nothing comes to close this. Highly recommend!

Great place! One of the best burgers I've ever had...and I'm a chef and former butcher! Beer is really not expensive, decent selection. Atmosphere is pleasant and staff friendly and attentive, thanks to our waiter Calvin's great service. French fries are delicious and unique. You can tell the cook is attentive to details. Perfect meal. Nice couch. Greatly recommend it.

Great dive with awesome Mystery Shots!

OMG!! Went in on a whim. Best decision ever! The burger was huge, cooked to perfection, and juicy! One of the best, if not the best burger I have ever eaten.

Desparados is the best of u street! Every night out we have involves a trip here for both unhurried conversation and their awesome beer/shot deal!You can always hear each other talk at desperados, which is a welcome change from most of the u street bars.

I was actually surprised with how good the burger was here. You'd think a burger is pretty much the same anywhere you go, but the texture and spice is phenomenal. If you are a fan of crispy seasoned fries like me, you are in for a treat. The staff were friendly and courteous, they went out of their way to make sure my friends and I had a great time and we'll be back again!

We are visiting DC and on our final night in town decided to have burgers delivered. The classic bacon burger and fries with fried pickles was an excellent choice.

Place is great to catch a drink. Nice and chill. The food is typical of what you would expect at a bar nothing extraordinary.

Terrible wings. Mediocre burguer

Around 3:00am my friend and I stopped in to use the restroom. People were still sitting at the bar, and at a table, drinking and talking. A total of 7 people. I used the restroom, my friend then went in and then the bartender came around and verbatim was saying "you need to leave, I need to clear out my bar, you need to get out now". I said "I understand, my friend is in the restroom" he continued to literally push me out and I mentioned everyone else sitting in the bar. A rude and uncomfortable experience. Also, my friend and I were completely sober and simply needed to use the restroom. If he was unable to clear out the bar in a timely fashion before we arrived, that is not our fault not is it a reason to be rude and disrespectful to us. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return as a patron.

Prices were excellent here but it definitely is a bit more of a dive than I was expecting

We went here for New Years Eve because it was one of the few places without a cover and a place to sit. We were pleasantly surprised by the service. There were only two bartenders on such a busy night but the two were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were getting what we needed. I wish I remembered their names but they were working on New Years Eve 2018 and made it enjoyable for me and my friends.

I can't speak to the food, but my wife, step-daughter and I stopped in after trekking around Meridian Hill park because we were thirsty, and we are so glad we did! The bartender was so incredibly nice, friendly, and funny! We had a great conversation, drank a couple of awesome local brews (and a bunch of water), enjoyed the very cool dive-bar atmosphere (and stories about whether the place may or may not be haunted). This place is a gem!

Best burger in DC. Flavor is incomparable. They could do a better job by putting more fries on the plate.
