The buffet is nice and the taste is good. You would not find a huge variety of dishes. But whatever is served is good, not above average but definitely a good option. The mutton was well cooked and the spice level is medium, or towards the low end. The polaw was fresh and nice. The tandoori chicken (grilled chicken) was good too. But the best part was the naan. It was so soft, that will just melt in to the mouth.The kheer was delicious, but the gulab jamun was average. It was too sweet and the sugar juice was too thik and sticky. Overall it's a nice place to have a quick Indian food, specially an north Indian buffet.

Overpriced buffet for average food. Street food is better than this. There was just one appetizer in the buffet and what they called flan was not flan. For five items on the buffet, it was $16.95. Taste was just meh. Ambience is average. Don't waste your money here.

Good food. Interiors are a bit down. Could do with a facelift. Also the music was a bit too loud and a bit out of place. The decor is Indian but the jazz music did not match the Darbar name and ambience.

This place is excellent and broad, the meals was delightful and the rates were very inexpensive. rapidly, effective service and very welcoming staff members. Recommended.

I want to say this place was great. The food actually was very tasty. I had the Aloo Gobi and Naan, it was wonderful. That would have been sufficient, but the staff were so odd. Just a mess of hovering, revolving, gossiping about patrons, stand-offishly serving you attitude. One young young man cleaning and organizing glasses seemed to have a customer service attitude. The other four more senior looking staff around me didn't. So, I don't know if I would go here. It just didn't feel good.

Discovered this phenomenal Indian restaurant with lovely upper seating after whole day of NYC trip. Cosy atmosphere with good vibes around, ordered some spicy dishes ( vindaloo, chilly chicken)and drinks to match up spices. Despite that spice level, we enjoyed the dishes and they were absolutely delicious. I cannot describe how spiced up and flavored dishes were. Amazing staffs and servers informed us about the spice level so that we could enjoy our food. Definitely recommended to anyone visiting NYC!!Darbar made our dinner awesome.😉😊

The food is consistently well prepared and flavorful, workers provides excellent customer service. I liked how clean it is and atmosphere. Worth a try.

Food was tasty, waitresses were kind and helpful. But the waiter who managed the payment, he asked for tip. He was not able to accept the fact that we were not allowed to give tip by corporate credit card, and the top on it, we did not want to. Why? It was a self service all you can eat type restaurant. Our table looked like a slope with 10..15°. And our place were small. That is why 3 stars as an average..

Best Indian food in the area! Seriously good tandoori lamb chops. I've been here twice in 8 days. That never happens 😉.

Generally never give restraints one stars yet leave reviews. Food was really solid here but service was horrendous.1. Menus were torn and stained2. Staff was un attentive3. Staff did not know the menu4. Staff brought courses out before other courses were finished5. Staff told us to hurry up as kitchen was closing (uh...1.5 hours should be expected when you make a reservation open, telling dinners to hurry up at 30 min is ridiculous)6. Despite ordering meal up front they waited until a dish was ready to be served to tell us they were out of it7. Wine served was not what was ordered, staff insisted it was when it was not.

I was visiting from Virginia & went with my cousins for dinner.The food , i ordered was perfectly spiced and yummy. This spot has perfect lighting & romantic charm with low music in background. customer service was excellent. Simrin got us amazing cocktails -Mango mojito and jaljeera passion. servers were attentive and kept refilling water as it got low.Overall ,It was a great dinning experience. I definitely recommend trying this place.

I eat here a lot since I work close by. I have to say their customer service is always good and they keep the spot clean all the time. Rates are convenient and they serve sizeable portions.

I ordered 2 mixed grills, salad and chutney and only recieved 1 mixed grill. As this was my last night in New York, this ruined my family meal. We were not given an option of a full refund and the best that they could offer, was another mixed grill the following day, which was the day of my returning flight. Furthermore, whilst an employee spoke to the chef, the chef told us to check again and swore at us in punjabi. Being punjabi myself, I questioned the abuse I received and the employee denied it. On the whole, I would not reccomend this establishment.

This spot never fails to deliver. They serve awesome food for fair rates, there is no waiting time even when the spot is full.
