Dames Chicken & Waffles

Oh. My. Goodness. Fabulous. The service was a bit rough the day we went but my friends that go often said that wasn't normal so I'll assume is was an off day which I get. But the waffles...and the chicken 😍. So yummy! EXCELLENT brunch spot with Awesome southern food!

We came to visit from the Raleigh area & when I say it’s “Alright”… I mean it’s alright! The service & ambiance is average. Although the waitress was nice, she was not attentive. The waffle was heavy. It had a sprinkle of cinnamon to give it some taste. Not a good batter at all. The chicken was seasoned very good but dry from over cooking. The grease needed to be changed! The portion you get is not worth the price & yes I understand things cost a little extra but still. I think the thing that bothered me the most is the lack of warm syrup. How do you put cold syrup in a container on a lukewarm waffle? Changes the taste & enjoyment. Rookie moves! Then you offer a “smear of butter” that’s frozen. Whoever, runs the kitchen has NO culinary training! The little things matter to become an excellent restaurant. They’re not there yet. I would only go back to support them as a Black Owned Restaurant! Other than that I’d go to Bojangles!

My wife and I visited this place recently and the quality has went down while the prices have risen. We both were served cold waffles and when we asked for hot waffles what we received was uncooked waffles the 2nd time even after waiting a conciderable amount of time The Mac and cheese should be taken off the menu because it just tasted terrible. Nobody ever asked if we wanted a refill of tea. The price of $65 for such terrible low quality food along with poor service just wasn't worth it in my opinion.
