Customshop: Handcrafted Food

Both (cold) appetizers were tasty. Entrees were flavorful but cold. When my dining partner asked for her seared tuna to be warm (it was cold throughout not even room temp) they reheated / overcooked it to the point of being inedible. They should have remade it fresh and served it warm. My own entree was room temp but not hot, as pasta should have been. Server was defensive and unapologetic. Unfortunate. We expected more for a $150 dinner.

Very nice restaurant interior, but I was not impressed with the meal. The best items were the cerviche and the bread. The squid ink cavatetti was ok. The scallop crudo, grouper & pork shank were pretty much tasteless. The mashed taters were tasty.

We ate at Customshop last night with another couple and had mixed reviews. The small plates / starters were good. Between 4 diners were shared 2 butter lettuce salads, 2 yellow fin tuna crudo, and 1 order of house burrata. Everyone enjoyed the starters and finished them all. The bread they served initially was quite delicious as well. The entrees....ehhhh. Three of us ordered the whole branzino. The waitress offered to have them filleted but the were not and there were a ton of bones. Flavor was so so vs other similar dishes I’ve had a my other restaurants recently. Pretty disappointed. My wife had the potato caramelles. She thought the my were so so as well. I tasted and thought the parsnip purée was pretty good but the mushrooms disappointed. We skipped on dessert, but shared a bottle of Brooks Runway Red throughout the meal that was good. We have had better experiences here, so not sure what’s up.

Customshop has reopened after a 4 month remodeling and is better than ever. The duck is divine. The pork chop was the most delicious I have ever tasted. The presentations beautiful but subservient to the extraordinary magic happening in the kitchen and delivered on plates to the customers. I consider Customshop to be one of the top 10 restaurants in Charlotte now. It was good before, it's beyond outstanding now.

If you want a great cocktail with a chef quality dinner you know what to do. Talk to your server and tell them what you're looking for...don't be shy.

When we went it was the perfect day to sit outside and watch the trolleys go back and forth disappearing down the hill into downtown. The service was great and our waitress made several amazing recommendations. The smoked duck is tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. I also really enjoyed the barbecued octopus and brussel sprouts. We ordered a little of everything and it was all great so I'll be swinging by again next time I'm in Charlotte for sure!

Went a few years back, then again recently. They've been around longer than many of these foodie joints through town. Great scallops, smoked octopus, housemade bread, mushroom medley, and outstanding filet. We've been to most of the top restaurants in town, and I think this was a top 5 meal. Work them into your routine more, Charlotte!

Marvelous food. It's loud inside and not the best place to go if you want to have conversation. The service was terrific.

I got the duck... A-Maz-Ing!

Everything is made in-house, with fresh ingredients. The chef's palate is spectacular, as everything we had was nothing short of superb. I like to eat, but I went home more stuffed than I've been in a long while. There is an excellent wine list to go with the food, too, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about them and their kitchen offerings, not to mention friendly and personable, which helped make a great meal even better.

Constantly changing menu from local sources makes for an exceptional experience. Prices reasonable for the quality and ambiance recieved.

I love everything about Customshop. Service food atmosphere cocktails and wine are all excellent. I love the pacing of service and the atmosphere is warm and open yet intimate.

Beautiful space, fun location, very good service, and exceptional food. We had a wonderful experience on our first visit to Customshop. The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, and everything we ordered was delicious and uniquely prepared. This is not the same old Charlotte menu. Our compliments to the chef. The Queen City needs more fine restaurants like this.

Nice food you can't find everywhere

High quality food, first class environment. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. The bartender made my friend a drink just by looking at him, I recommend everyone do this at least once. Bartenders who know what your doing will give you a great experience. Everyone here seems to know what they are doing.
