Asked the workers outside of the Marriott where to go to eat and they suggested the Creole House. Nothing fancy, just good, basic southern cuisine. Tried alligator for the first time and it wasn't bad at all. Also did the Crispy Fried Fish Po-boy. Near the tail end of my New Orleans vacation we decided to come back. On our first visit, there was a staff member who showed that she didn't care about working there but our second visit a different staff member (the hostess) was absolutely amazing!

Food was great, drinks were great, service was awesome. It's a little more of a corporate feel, so don't expect super unique cocktails or creative menu choices. Pretty traditional NOLA menu. Shrimp and grits was really good, chargrilled oysters were good too. I'm saving my 5th star for the independently owned creative restaurants who blow it out of the park. There's just too much good competition here. And there's nothing really "must see" about this place.

Char-grilled oysters with bacon and garlic were lovely. The Dr Bombay cocktail was strong and delicious. The whole place was humming and the staff working the room professionally so it is clear that this place is very well run. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Incredible meal ! Enjoyed the Ribeye Steak with mashed potatoes. Never, ever, had potatoes prepared so tasty. Crab Cakes were the best I've ever had. Came down to New Orleans to get married, and I'm simply regret that we didn't come here to dine, until our last day in town. Wife has dined here before, on previous trips to New Orleans. Kept recommending while I was here. And the polite, courteous staff is worthy of mention as well. I'll definitely dine at the Creole House when I return to the New Orleans.

It was our first time visit and had Savannah for our server. She knew the menu front to back. We ask for suggestions and she said to start with there Hurricane. Next she recommended alligator with the jalapeno slaw. Next she recommended jambalaya pasta. For dessert she recommended the bread pudding. All suggestions were fantastic. This was BAR NONE THE BEST MEAL WE HAD IN NEW ORLEANS. Bread pudding was to die for and I am not a big bread pudding person. This will be our go to place when we are there. Savannah was the best and the food was delicious.

Portion size was extremely generous and the fried catfish was fresh and delicious. I was seated immediately but the downstairs dining room was packed even on a weeknight. Seating was a little tight but the ambiance was pleasant and the food quality and service provided were excellent.

I had dinner here recently, and I also stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I cannot overstate how wonderful the food is as well as the staff. I needed to do some work on a Friday afternoon, and they set me up at a back table where I could use my laptop and work freely while enjoying some amazing oysters and gumbo. The hospitality here is incredible. I'm a somewhat frequent visitor of New Orleans, and this restaurant is now one of my "must visits" during my trips to New Orleans. Their char-grilled oysters are absolutely incredible and a must-have if you're a fan of oysters. The garlic butter sauce is so flavorful and impressive. I recommend this restaurant to my friends, family, and acquaintances who are visiting New Orleans.

Went here for breakfast. At first it took a while to get waited on. Then a sweet young lady asked if we had been waited on. She apologized. Food got to us before the drinks even made it. Delicious. Worth the wait.

Absolutely loved this place, the menu had many options, the interior was lovely, and the staff was also incredibly nice. I really want to highlight the oysters; they were absolutely amazing, and were the best I've ever had. Overall, this place is amazing, but don't expect to have a conversation with friends here, as it can get pretty loud and packed.

I had an amazing dinner here! We tried the taste of the bayou dish and it was delicious! The oysters were amazing as well! It was so good, on my way out I forgot my purse! I called the next morning at 6:30, after realizing I forgot it, and they had kept it safe the whole night and let me pick it up at 6:45 before they opened!! All of the staff were incredibly nice and understanding!! Really appreciate the great service and GREAT food! Would highly reccomend this place.

Pros:Crab cakeOystersCons:Bread pudding is like a solid block of dough but the caramel sauce and cream is good.Food that features bacon doesn't really have much baconGumbo is good but has more rice than gumbo. This place would be great if they improved their food a bit.

First off, it's right next to the Marriott, where we stayed. That made it convenient. Secondly, the service was excellent and very accommodating. The food was... all right. Not bad, mind you. Not even sub par. It was good food without a lot to make it stand out, and from the prices, it should have. But I am from Oklahoma, where we're rather used to not having tourists and charging tourist prices, so my judgment may be a bit skewed. Try it, I say... and be aware of all the other choices available.
