Congee Star

Pretty good Cantonese/HK style comfort food for good prices and generous portions. We like the stir fried radish cakes, different types of congee, BBQ pork, Singapore rice noodles, beef chow fun, and Chinese fried dough. The service is a little slow, but I don't think they had many staff working at the time that we visited.

This site is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I feel like having a good lunch, this place comes straight to my head. superb and all kinds of food and a rich menu.well mannered team, and pleasant atmosphere. Also, the pay is reasonable. I praise this place with no hesitation.

I almost feel like you can never give a five for simple Chinese food even though the portions are huge, prices are cheap, and the food generally tastes better than most douchey high end restaurants in the city. That being said, the lower ratings usually come from the fact that Chinese servers are brusque, even to the point that they either ignore you or push you out the door with the bill. Anyhow, we ordered from Skip the Dishes, so there was none of that. The food was hot, packed tightly in good containers and on time. The one star minus was for the rice noodle rolls (skin was a bit thick), and the stir-fried turnip - not as crispy as I would have liked. Otherwise all in all, good, simple, cheap lunch.
