Very nice, local chain. High quality coffee with good service and a great atmosphere. Nitro cold brew is the best you'll get.

Good coffee shop but TERRIBLY loud almost all times of the day. They have their roasting machine out in the open and running 24/7.Not a good place if you want to have a meeting, get work done or even have a conversation.

They have the best coffee you can get. I was in DC for a visit form NC. And looked for a new place to drink coffee and this place came up as the best coffee shop in DC.I had there caramel latte and it was for sure the best I have ever had in any coffee place before.

Had a vanilla latte and the ham and cheese croissant when I stopped by. The latte was really good, not too sweet, and the croissant still flaky and not oily. Nice atmosphere in the place, with the sacks of beans and roasting equipment in the back within view from the seating area.

Simply the best coffee roaster in DC. I buy their Cardinal Blend as my everyday coffee, which is so smooth and supercharges my workday. I've been enjoying trying their single-source beans from around the globe. Never had a bad cup of coffee from this place and the service is always excellent.

You never really know how good you have something, until you try something else. I ordered a matcha latte with coconut milk, in MD. I LOVE Compass Coffee matcha latte, I had my first taste 2 weeks ago. I thought all matcha lattes would be similar so I felt comfortable ordering one elsewhere. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was matcha flavored liquid. It wasn't the steamed almond milk and matcha goodness I've come to expect and love. Forgive me Compass Coffee for trying matcha latte elsewhere. Serves me right, I learned my lesson.

Great coffee! Plenty of seating but does fill in fast! Friendly staff! Great place to work or chat. Has pastries if you are looking for a snack as well.

Great coffee shop in 7th St. They roast the coffee there so sometimes can be a little bit noisy, specially during busy hours, but it's worth it. Very nice place, friendly staff, great variety of products. Oh, and I love that they have sparkling water for free!

Well-lit and clean and bustling coffee shop. Two large coffees that didn't break the bank. Well, their large is smaller than a grande cup and not filled all the way.Decaf latte was a bit harsh but some extra cream smoothed it out.Self-serve water station was much appreciated.

Great coffee, quick and friendly service. Most coffee beans to go for home use are very affordable and conveniently stored in nice air tight tins. Perfect for reusing.

Stopped in for a cappuccino before heading out for the day. Beautiful shop with open space to check out the roasters at work. Friendly service and very good pricing for drinks.

When visiting DC, my girlfriend and I decided to stop at compass coffee. It was so interesting to see the coffee beans being roasted in front of us. When we moved seats to get a better view, the coffee maker Chris asked if we wanted a tour of how coffee is made. This was an awesome experience and Chris was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. If you’re in DC definitely stop here.
