Clyde's of Georgetown

About

Opened in 1963, Clyde's of Georgetown qualifies as an institution. This animated tavern in the heart of Washington's most famous neighborhood popularized saloon food and practically invented Sunday brunch. More than 50 years later, Clyde's continues the tradition, serving classic American cuisine to Georgetown locals and famous faces while passers-by stop in and mingle at the long oak bar. The re-designed interior is an open invitation to the restaurant's life and times with its many travel posters, paintings, and bronze statues. Clyde's of Georgetown remains a Washington classic.

We recently visited DC and did a ghost tour the very last night but wanted to end the trip with a nice restaurant. We decided to make reservations at Clydes and we are so glad we did. Seating was comfortable, staff was friendly, drinks were great, food was delicious and dessert was good as well! Highly recommend giving this place a try while you’re out and about on your DC trip!

Touristy. Good food. The bar staff is more attentive and friendly than most in Georgetown. The server situation is hit or miss as is anywhere that caters to the higher end, tourist heavy spots on M street.

Questions & Answers

I would like to know , too.

No I don't sorry.

Local lots nearby. Nice scenery anywhere you go.

There's street parking, just not a lot. It's off M street. Recommend parking in the neighborhood above it, no payment.

Maybe. It's all about timing.

No raw bar at Clyde's. Go to Old Ebbitt Grill. Not sure about HH on Sundays.
