CJ'S BBQ Smokehouse

I like to give places a fair shot by going more than one time because sometimes it depends on who cooks the food whether it’s good or not. So my first visit the pulled chicken wasn’t even warm when they served it to me and the meat was on the dry side and didn’t have a smoky flavor. Baked beans weren’t really good or bad.. they tasted more like chili to me. Bun was toasted nicely and coleslaw was ok. All in all I’d say the place was mediocre at best. 2nd visit, the staff was extremely friendly so that was a plus The meat was actually served hot this time which is also good but they put the meat on the sandwich and I ended up with a soggy bun which I hate and just as my first visit, the meat isn’t seasoned very well and is absent of any smoky flavor. Getting their Mac n cheese was a total waste of money because it’s bland and dry. The great value shells and cheese in a microwaveable cup you get from Walmart that you add water to has more flavor than their Mac n cheese.

We always make a point to stop here when traveling through Chambersburg. I always order the beef brisket sandwich and mac and cheese. The beef is always juicy and smoked to perfection. They have several different sauces to please anybody's pallet.

This was our FIRST time here, and WILL NOT be the last!! We are a hard core BBQ family, and this place is definitely THE BEST💗💗💗
