City Cakes is a high end cake shop that takes inspiration from NYC's diverse melting pot and uses it to create gorgeous works of edible art, both stunning and delicious. City Cakes is also known to make some of the world's best cookies, their signature line weighing in at a half pound each. Gourmet cupcakes and half pound cookies are baked fresh each and every day. Our shop is located on the basement level of a residential building at 251 West 18th Street in Manhattan, between 7th and 8th Avenues in the Chelsea neighborhood and a few blocks west of the famous Highline Park. We are open Monday thru Saturday from 11am-9pm. Sunday we open at noon until 9pm. Currently we offer no retail seating, however, you are more than welcome to grab a snack and go. Tastings and on-the-spot consultations are not available at this time, however we welcome you to schedule one by contacting us.

This place is hands down the best cookie place in all of New York. I'm so glad we made a stop in!! I'm reading some of these reviews and the logic is so bizarre to me-- too sweet? half-pound??? LIKEEE.... It's a cookie, it's gonna be sweet. And if you have a problem with the cookie being a half pound, why would you step into a bakery that specializes in HALF POUND cookies?! I just don't know. Anyway, please listen to the other great reviews, this place is just phenomenal!

This place is amazing! I walked in to order a cake because I hear they're great and a crew helped me out. I asked her for recommendations and she said the red velvet so i got that with cream cheese frosting. I also got the banana pudding and red velvet cheesecake which were great. The cake was so good!

My go to for special occasions, or just because I have a huge sweet tooth. I always make a point to pick up some half pound cookies when I’m home in NY visiting family. But even when I’m away, they’ll ship to overseas military APOs, which is amazing. They always have fun, unique flavors and I love that their cookies can be frozen and still taste amazing (though I usually eat them all before I can freeze them). They are a great small business doing big things!
