City Barbeque

The meats are very tender and smoked just right. The sandwiches are piled high and the portions are large So if you are still hungry after eating one of those then you need to go to a buffet.

City Barbeque has the best smoked chicken and collard greens hands down. If you are really hungry I would get the meat sampler to find your favorites and share with your friends. The variety of sauces is really interesting. They have the classic sweet and spicy ones, but they also have some fruitier ones. You have to try the smoked chicken. It’s perfectly cooked and the smoke flavor is outstanding.

2017-09 Good parking. Good restroom. The sampler is fantastic and we got huge portions. Try the turkey. New that they have a wide variety of sauces. Liked Mongolian. Grape NEHI.

First time here food was excellet. People were great we will be back. Oh and the Tea is so good.

We may have went a little late in the evening, but it wasn't great! I did like the ribs.

Such a great place for some awesome BBQ. Had the LoLo on Texas Toast with some amazing Apple BBQ sauce and mac and cheese. City Barbeque is a no brainer go-to whenever I find one. I also had a free dessert for my b'day today.

Good, casual, chain type barbecue place. All kinds of meats: pork, brisket, chicken, Turkey, sausage. Several flavors of sauces. Texas toast is awesome. They have a regular drinking room, a little enclosed patio, and outdoor picnic tables. My 5 yo daughter loves this place.

It's a little pricey but the barbecue is good. You get free refills on the drinks. There is plenty of free parking. There are enough tables even during busy times. The sides seemed a little small. Watch out, the floor can be slippery. There is no table service, you have to order at the counter and pick up your own food. This is actually nice because it is faster at lunch. You won't have to worry about being late for work.

So Mother's Day weekend we decided to get the "The Motherload" no pun intended. It said enough to feed six. So we picked the sides and got all the meat. $90 later we got it and the sides were single serving sides. Definitely not enough to go around for six people. We were definitely was very disappointed especially for what you pay. I definitely felt like we didn't get what we paid for. Very disappointing!

City Barbeque was the last stop on a trip to Kentucky with my two older friends, Jamski and Richard. Jamski is 81 years old, and Richard is a young 96. The bourbon bbq sauce is spectacular when accompanied with the burnt ends. If one would like to try the burnt ends, I suggest arriving when they open at 11:00 am. I had to wake poor Richard up at 4:30 am, prepare his medications and arrange transportation with his oxygen to arrive in time for the 11:00 opening. The look on Richards face as he smelled the burnt ends on his plate brought pure joy to his face. I've never seen such a wide, honest, grin of satisfaction. Richard did use the bathroom to fix his hearing aide. Spectacular mirrors to prepare Richard for his 2 pm nap time. Our home nurse had such an easy time, reporting he was resting and sleeping very comfortably with his resting face of happiness. I applaude City Barbeque for an afternoon to remember!

This my favorite place to go for BBQ (my favorite) when in Lex. The greens are the best I’ve ever had, corn pudding is amazing and light, the smoked meats are all delicious (brisket- LOVE!) and the sauces and pickle bar is outstanding! Tried a new blackberry sauce this time- started sweet, finished with a bit of heat- absolutely delicious- even though their meats don’t need any sauce.
