I come here all the time. Awesome lunch as well. Down to earth nice local place. As for breakfast, if you like waffle house or classic breakfast joints, you might as well come here! Fresher ingredients, better quality, and same price.

Fast service they are ready to customize your menu selection as best they can too! Now who does that these days?

Their breakfast was awesome i like that its cooked to order and you can order just what you they way you want it. I will definitely go back.

Went in to Chris Z's for the first time this morning with a friend and immediately felt like family! The food was good, southern, comfort food and they gave me an extra big cup of coffee! I could not be more happy and will definitely be coming back again soon!

A favorite breakfast and lunch place. Affordable, tasty food and good portions. Big Nasty hash browns are highly recommended. A meal that will last you all day. Omelets are also recommended. Must try lunch sometime.Tried the Chris Z dog, for breakfast yet. Highly recommended if you're a hot dog person at all. A large weiner is butterflied and grilled to brown perfection then placed on a bun and smothered in their special sauce and all the other trimmings. A super example of the Birmingham hot dog.Recently raised rating from 3 to 4 stars. Consistently good.

We ordered The Big Nasty (HUGE), Omelet Z (loaded meat omelet), & Smoked Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit. It was all delicious! To be honest I picked this place because they had a parking lot (needed on that day) (as opposed to street parking), which is hard to find in Birmingham! But I am so glad we chose this one. The staff was phenomenal! Diner atmosphere with great food. We will be back.

Good food, good service

Philly cheese steak was good, fries were okay. The little girl behind the register doesn't know the difference between fresh and pickled jalapeños. Apologies, I shouldn't have used "little girl". I should have said, young lady. I meant no disrespect, I have two of my own.

Good mom and pop place. Will return. All workers nice and friendly and the food was great as well. They them out when u get a chance.. Its worth it..

Chris z is a great place for a burger or dog and several other great meals. Like the staff and location very convenient if your downtown. Updated 07/11/19. My wife has Cancer & we go for treatment every 3 weeks across street from restaurant. My wife looks forward to after treatment going to Chris Z and eating a hot dog for lunch. It has become our routine. Chris's sister who works there makes it a point to ask for a update when we come in & Chris always says hello. It's the small things that make a customer enjoy there visit at any establishment. I highly recommend the food but the level of service has always been top notch.

Best classic cheeseburger! So glad to have found a place that makes great burgers in Birmingham! This is my new go to for a burger. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Good food at a good price. Greasy hole in the wall places, like this, will always be a favourite of mine. Straightforward, unpretentious, menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, hotdogs, and a few breakfast staples in sufficient portions at fair prices. Definitely worth a visit. For those with allergen concerns: as of my visit here (7/January/2020), they fry using vegetable oil. (Best to call and confirm before your own visit, just to be sure)

Started off with something simple: cheeseburger with bacon added and a side of fries. The burger was great, the fries were a bit over saturated and slightly overcooked. Nice, friendly people behind the counter and quick service. Will return, try something else, and give the fries another chance.
