Just bought a plate of chicken and lamb over rice WOW!!! HALAL GUYS have some contenders around the block! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND & if you’re in need of breakfast the VILLAGE COFFEE SHOP IN TOWN IS BEYOND AMAZING! STAFF IS FABULOUS! Mr. Patel’s customer engagement is beyond this world!!! 1000/1000

They have REAL pita. None of the thin, dry, tasteless nonsense a lot of places serve. Food overall is fresh and tasty. Good prices. Did I mention the real pita?

The best lamb platter of this type that I have had in years, and the pita bread is warm, thicker than typical, and delicious. The owner is very nice, and the space is pleasant to eat in, which I prefer to take-out (though I understand why people like that option).

I had the lamb shredded over rice and the hummus, the flavour is unique and there hot sauce was wow💥💥hot, will be back... the flavor still lingers on.

Nice quick Mediterranean joint in downtown Maplewood. Pita w chicken Israeli salad and pickled cabbage. Add hot sauce and tzatziki - yummy. Babaganoush w warm pita good too. Worth a try for simple lunch or dinner.

Delicious food, hug portions. It's the only place we can get the kids to eat vegetables.

What a great spot, authentic and delicious Mediterranean food ! The falafel platter was really good and value for money. Also did I mention this place is Vegan friendly as well which was a huge plus for my wife and me. The owner was very friendly and also detailed different food items on the menu which was very helpful. Overall great experience and I would recommend this place to everyone :)

We were looking for quick, late, take out dinner last night, and we called Chikpea at 7:45 PM (web said closed at 8 PM). The woman said, “Sure, you can order!” And she went over the menu choices on the phone with us and patiently waited for us to decide what we wanted. Ordering was easy though, you just “build” your own customized pita or platter (with chicken, lamb, or chickpea felafel), pick toppings, and you’re done!We walked into Maplewood town and retrieved our dinner at 8:03 PM, and they were really sweet. The dinners were great! Tasty shredded chicken for me, lamb for husband, and felafel for daughter. Each pita sandwich was topped with greens (Israeli salad with chopped cucumber/tomato), and several sauces on the side to try for ourselves: (really) hot sauce, cucumber/yogurt (tzatziki), and tahini (sesame I think).A great spontaneous weeknight dinner, and a fresh new taste on Maplewood Ave!! Next time I want to try the other sauces, and the FRIES...
