Stopped here as we were traveling through. Service was great, seems to be a family owned restaurant. Everyone loved their food, everything seemed really fresh. Would definitely stop here again if I were in town.

Worst cheese enchiladas I have ever had. Tortillas wrapped around string cheese covered with red sauce. Not baked long enough to melt the string cheese.Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. Inedible. I did eat the rice and beans, which were average. This is definitely a meat-centric place. The cheese enchiladas were on the “vegetarian menu,” which is basically an afterthought. There are no actual vegetables in the entrees, which are simply meatless versions of enchiladas, tacos and burritos. If you don’t eat meat, don’t eat here.

Tasty Tacos!! A family run place with friendly service and a handy place to pick a gift with lunch. The beef cheek tacos were particularly tasty.

I was driving through, saw the reviews and thought I would try it. The high reviews are well deserved. I had the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde. It was awesome. My wife had the carnitas torta, It was huge, she could only eat half and hardly touched the fries. The fries are fresh and delicious. Basically everything here is great and the man who took our order and guided us through the menu was awesome. Thank you for a great meal!

Food is fresh & different than standard Mexican fare served stateside. It seemed more authentic to me, but all I really know is it is delicious. Also it's what's for dinner tonight!!

Stopped in here after a long day of driving. Was shocked to see a 13 year old boy working the counter and he did really good. We were impressed. The food was served promptly. Was good eating, just wish there was more flavor in the food. It's not your typical Mexican restaurant but I would definitely go back.

Best vegetarian burrito I've ever had. Excellent salsas. Friendly service. Comfortable and colorful dining area... I cannot recommend this place more. I only wish they were located in Southern California, but next time I'm traveling on Interstate 40, I will go out of my way to make a return visit.

Visited Santa Rosa for a trip to the Blue Hole. The food here was absolutely delicious! Some of the tastiest we've eaten during our week long road trip through New Mexico. I ordered the fish tacos and added avocado and cheese- the authentic flavors were outstandingly delicious and the price unbeatable at $2 a taco. Hubby ordered the carne asada burrito, which he loved. We topped off dinner with an off the menu item- fried plantains in condensed milk with jam. It was amazing! The business seems family owned and everyone was lovely. The building was evidently converted from a former fast food joint, but the family feel and the traditional food makes you feel at home. Would definitely recommend!

Good food from this place. Torta was good--huge--but not super flavorful. Tacos were good but small. Chilaquiles were great. Tons of meat, nicely fried tortilla pieces underneath. Desserts were kind of flavorless. Had the flan and the thing that was kind of like rice pudding, and we thought they'd be tastier, since they looked great. Just okay. Prices overall were reasonable. Service was fast and friendly. It's easy to see from the street. Place was pretty busy on the night we visited. Our experience was good, and we'd return.

Dont let the fast food appearance of the building dissuade you from dining in. Casual and charming dining experience. The food was great!

Really good! If we ever pass through Santa Rosa again we will definitely eat here. Hint: if you order the quesadilla it's enough for two people. Personally we did not care for the elotes. Great service and owner is super friendly and social.

A recent road trip took us through Santa Rosa NM. We stayed the night in the Best Western (really nice!) and chose Chico's for our dinner spot. It was fantastic. The food was very fresh, homemade tasting, and the service was friendly. There is some very nice Mexican pottery for sale (some went home with us) and a few paintings. We loved the place and will absolutely go back if the opportunity presents. Great food, wonderful family-run restaurant+gallery.
