Great food, great pie. Century old ambience. Popular place. Wait staff diffident but competent. Somewhat crowded two floors with narrow stairs. Will go back. Pols from statehouse were holding meeting. Apparently everyone in Annapolis knows of this place. Parking garage, free around corner thirty steps away. Park there to walk to Statehouse, then to wharf to see statuary of Alex Haley and surrounding info on 'Roots.' Finally, (tho I didn't go) fifty steps away is Naval Academy, which everyone says is excellent experience. Only three block back to car. But, MANY great things to see and do in Annapolis.

HUGE portions. Either bring a friend or a big appetite. Good milkshakes (splitting the 20 oz was perfect). Deli pickles are yummy! Service was hit or miss the times we were there (dinner and then breakfast). The muffins are big and delicious--ask for it grilled/toasted.

So first off, it's definitely worth noting that their "20oz" milkshakes are not 20 ounces. Closer to 32 I'd say. They fill your glass, then give you the remainder of the shake to fill it to the top once again.Such a cool little place overall. I didn't get around to trying one of their famous crab cakes, but their burger sure didn't disappoint. The names are awesome on the menu options. Wait staff is very personable and clearly have appreciation for their unique place of employment.

I love this place, they have something for everyone. Great attentive staff, good food, great prices and an awesome atmosphere. Will be making this my new goto for the area.

You basically go here for the experience! Food is great! Milkshakes are better! Ask about why they hang bagels from their ceiling! Especially if you have your kids with you! My family loves their crab cakes and soup...I typically get a sub or a burger! Menu is huge!

Chick & Ruth's deli has a sign inside saying there are ‘Kosher-style†quite the claim for a place known for its shellfish. They do make great sandwiches Kosher or not. Beyond sandwiches, they have a vast menu. If you can not find something you like on this menu go home and boil yourself an egg. They also have a bunch of Man V Food type of challenges where you have to finish a huge amount of food within a certain time frame. I was pretty sure I could defeat the super colossal sandwich challenge, but one sharp look from my wife told me not this time. Ah, so I now have a white whale. Anyway, this place serves great food and tons of it. I highly recommend you make the trip for the crabcakes alone. Our thanks to the great staff as well.

A must do experience! Great food, great service, and the charm only found in a true local eatery. Burger was on par with the best and the crab cake was HUGE (1/2 lb!!) and delicious. After seeing the pastries and pies in the display as we left, I'll be going back!

Great place for a quick bite by yourself or perfect for a large group. Huge menu and I have yet to have a bad meal and I've been a loyal customer for 20 years.

My first time visiting this cute, little "Ma & Pa" establishment and apparently it’s been the cornerstone of Annapolis, MD since 1965! Some have quoted it as “the-squeeze-'em-in-tight†type Delly but boy do they knock out an affordable, big menu! Heavy on sandwiches and breakfast plates. Visitors can relive grade-school days reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at 8:30am weekdays and 9:30am Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast is served all day. I’m in love with the COLOSSAL CRAB CAKES! Look at these things! Let me just say that driving an hour from Baltimore for a taste of these lump crab beauties is worth the trip. Til next time Chick & Ruth’s, which can’t come soon enough.

Not exactly fine dining, but the food is fast and good. The service could have been better the last time that I came, but I've been coming here for years so I don't really expect a whole lot from them.

Friendly service, great breakfast dishes, very trendy but low key place to visit for a good meal: looks more like an old dinner than a deli. Portions are big, very good quality. An Annapolis landmark to experience on a cold morning like we did...but any time or with any weather.

I have never been served such a large portion of crab in my life! The space is small with a lot of knick-knacks. It was memorable and I want to go back to try all the treats. As a lactose intolerant person, I was somewhat limited in my options.

Barely stroller/wheelchair accessible, no changing table in the bathroom, and food gave me major stomach problems several hours after I ate. Food was great to eat in the moment, but not worth the tummy ache later.
