Chia Shiang Restaurant

Recently relocated to the area and saw good reviews for this restaurant; but, was disappointed with both the price and the quality. The food was not tasty or well done. The order was also processed incorrectly, resulting in an additional $20 worth of unwanted rice (two large boxes). Explaining this to the owner proved difficult, so we didn't bother correcting her. There also was upcharge for any combination of switching out sides - sides are apparently linked to an entree' no matter what. If you are thinking of getting food in Ann Arbor for the prices they charge, there are much better options.

I was randomly craving chinese food so I went here assuming it was a normal restaurant. Seating is very quick and the restaurant has pretty good outside views wherever you sit. One dish i would recommend is the crispy jellyfish because its a pretty good experience but the best part about the restaurant was the hot dishwasher guy in the back. Im pretty sure his name is Elijah but he's smoking hot and his cooking skills are better than Gordan Ramsey. If anyone is looking for food and a hot cook, ask for Elijah 😉

best and freshest... of course you get what you pay for so keep in mind it is far from cheap but the best quality product you will find anywhere besides the dock!

Chia Shiang is really something special. Easily one of the best Chinese restaurants in southeast Michigan! (Really, it may be the best.)

This is easily the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant you will find in Michigan. It has a MASSIVE menu with every Chinese dish you could want (included the infamous Szechuan sauce). The menu is organized in a fashion that makes it very easy to find what you want, despite the size. On top of a huge selection, almost anything you order comes out in roughly ten minutes. The service here is very quick. The restaurant is clean and the food tastes great. I would highly recommend if you like Chinese food.

Carry out was for 7:38p today. Got there at 7:35 and was told to wait another 20 minutes. Came back didn't up getting my food until 8:15p. I ordered General Tso's Chicken. Only ended up eating 2 bites. The sauce was vinegary and that's about it. Not sweet nor spicy. Food is noticeably malodorous, although the chicken itself was fine. Overall after waiting an extra 45 minutes and receiving food that I didn't even eat I don't recommend this place at all. I would give them the benefit of the doubt as they were packed on a Friday evening, but the food was not redeeming at all.

Nice staff, absolutely KILLER vegetarian selection. Love this place.

Not sure what other reviewers are griping about. Had a great takeout experience from Chia Shiang today. While there was no one at the counter initially, a man came out and let me know that someone would be with me shortly. I ordered boiled fish in spicy soup from the Chinese menu and the amount of food for $17 was mind boggling. They even gave it to me in a reusable, sturdy plastic container.

They have the most authentic Chinese food in Ann Arbor. They have a huge selection of menu items. Lunch menu is extremely affordable and fuliflling. Lots of vegetarian options! You'll never miss the meat.

One of the waitresses didn't show much respect to her customers. She showed dissatisfaction to the people on their tips amount, has also been rude to quickly remove all dishes when people haven’t finished yet, giving her dirty looks when being interrupted.

I ordered the orange chicken and fried rice to go it was fresh, hot and delicious. Customer service was polite and efficient. My first time ordering from here I will be back. Now I'm adding to my first review of this restaurant different from prior experience with them. The nerve to take my hard earned money and give me oily, soggy, overcooked leftovers. My egg roll was placed in the orange chicken sauce I guess to hide the fact that you gave me less chicken? Broccoli overcooked, and rice lukewarm and tasted smoky. This is not the experience I had in the past. Did the previous cook quit? Please treat ALL customers the same. When I entered your restaurant you acted as if I was a criminal only one of you were nice as she always is. I'm a law abiding citizen. Never judge a book by its cover. I have worked in retail for 25 yrs. I treat ALL customers with dignity and respect.
