Chestnut Hill Bakery

I love this bakery and the sweets are always wonderful, but my last visit was really soured buy the counter person's attitude. She clearly was having a very bad day and took it out on me just for walking in the door. A very unpleasant experience, but I will be back because their cakes are beyond compare.

Found a roach in our Long Johns back in March. Nasty. Will never buy again.

The people there are very friendly. The cream puffs are delicious! My favorite are the peanut butter brownies! The honeybuns are extremely large. Love everything there!

Ordered a custom cake for my friend’s birthday and it was perfect without any problems.

I visited the bakery this Saturday to get a fresh, sweet treat. I’ve only been there once before this visit and I’ve had a wonderful experience during that time. As I walked into the bakery, I was immediately turned off by the greeting I received by the woman who was working because she asked me if I know what I wanted already and her tone was unpleasant. Since I’ve only been there once, I felt rushed to choose what I wanted. So I got two chocolate blossoms and a baked cake that had raisins in it and icing on top. The price came out to be $3 and some change, which is a good deal. However, after trying everything I ordered I was VERY disappointed. Blossoms were dry, not warm, and not fresh. The raisin cake was cold, not fresh, and almost tasted a bit store-bought. I went around 1:30PM but either way, my experience makes me not want to go back due to the fact that I was raised here and I expect more from a southern bakery (especially when it comes down to the hospitality).
