Cherokee Tavern has a rich history that started back in 1933. Over the last 85 years it has remained the same name and a staple in the West Saint Paul community. July 19th, 2018 the Tavern ownership was handed down to the Rubenzer Family, Brian, Mollie, Jameson, Isabella and Brielle. The Rubenzer’s are very involved in the West Saint Paul and Mendota Heights Community. Mollie is the Home and School President at Saint Joes Catholic School. Brian and Mollie try to give back as much as they can to the community they surround inducing several schools and their sports programs Sibley, Heritage, Somerset and Mendota. It was the families dream to be able to own a business in the community that they live in,

The restuarant is amazing. The owner Brian was the best to work with on booking our wedding. The filet mignon melts in your mouth. The walleye and chicken were amazing. Beautiful banquet room and restaurant. Looking forward to many more meals from here.

We went there for my wife's free birthday steak and were charged 20 dollars for it. That was resolved, the food was excellent, from the appetizers, to the fresh veggies, to the soups, to the steaks. Wonderful steak. The cheap cutlery was a disappointment at these prices, but the outstanding food overcame these minor annoyances.
