Chepo's used to be one of favorite restaurants but sadly went there on Nov 27th for my 50th birthday. I had the tamales.. the food was just lacking. It's hard to describe what wasn't there in the taste.

Let's get the bad stuff out first. Pico de Gallo was inedible. I don't know if the cilantro was off or the unripe tomatoes. (It is Alaska so good tomatoes are hard to come by)I'm not a big guacamole fan but tasted it anyway and it was quite nice.Food: We had mini chimichangas to start. Would include a picture but they were gone by the time I pulled out my phone. The jalapeño cream cheese dip was the perfect companion! We ordered fajitas for the main course. There were 6 large tasty shrimp and veggies. The steak fajitas were delicious also. Each came with the usual side of guac, sour cream, beans and Spanish rice.Service: Excellent, swift, pleasant and personable even though they were slammedAtmosphere: Not too dim or bright. They hit the goldilocks zone and Mexican music plays in the background. Murals adorn the walls. Live plants are healthy.Price: A little spendy for the quantity but we left satiated and didn't have room for dessert.See pics.
