Eaten here 2 times with my family - good food and good service. It's a bit noisy and crowded but I would recommend it if you want to have a nice sit down meal and celebrate a special occasion. Order your cake in advance! I like that the staff are all French...feels authentic and fun.

Food is classic French. Different take on escargot than be our guest, here it is served with a pesto sauce, and a crustini. I went with a flat iron steak, which was delicious. Also had the Mac and cheese with guyere crema, and the duck. All fantastic. My server was Ethan, from Avignon, also wonderful.

Chefs de France was always a favorite of ours; but it seems the food quality has declined and the wait staff left a lot to be desired. First Salade Nicoise was under-dressed so had very little flavor. Second, perhaps the wait staff is under pressure to turn the tables. After ordering drinks, we went to wash our hands in the restroom and our waiter, James, followed us toward the restroom to see if we had decided on what we wanted to eat and would give him our order. It's expensive to eat at Disney. Fortunately there are many other options for our future visits.

Your question begs a question in return. Assuming you are an adult with basic communication skills were you unable to request a knife that would enable you to cut the bread? The wait staff does speak and understand English. Having had the opportunity to dine at Chefs de France on multiple occasions, to the best of my recollection, they have several types of knives available, including steak knives, that would have solved your challenge. Ultimately, if you could tear the bread apart, it should be irrelevant what your server thought and if an appropriate knife was available. Venting to the internet about this as opposed to asking those who could actually assist you (the restaurant staff, while you were dining) certainly doesn't seem the optimal manner to find a solution and/or answer.

If you're on the Disney plan it's an excellent choice however the food choices are more appealing to an adult than children. There is always kid friendly food but...I hope that helped.

You can pull the menu up on DISNEY site for Chefs de France. I can not recall if they did vegan.sorry
